More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for March 19th
The March 19th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a small increase in overall viewership and key demographic ratings and a slight increase in key demographic rankings.
AEW drew 658,000 viewers and a 0.19 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was #11 place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s increases this week was due to the large increase from their older key demographic viewership group, which its percentage was not given. This reportedly offset the combination of a stiff sports competition from the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and the large decline from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was down 8.9% compared to last week’s show. AEW’s key demographic viewership and rating was the largest for a Dynamite show of this year so far. Meltzer reported that this week’s show continued the patter of AEW having more younger female key demographic viewers than younger male key demographic viewers for Dynamite shows. Meltzer also reported that the viewership on MAX for the show is currently not known. AEW’s lead-in programming Big Bang Theory reportedly drew 881,000 viewers and a 0.14 rating.
In terms of head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Detroit Pistons vs. Miami Heat drew 910,000 viewers on ESPN, the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament First Four game of Xavier vs. Texas drew 2,433,000 viewers on truTV, the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament First Four game of Mount St. Mary’s vs. American drew 1,432,000 viewers on truTV, the NHL game of Colorado Avalanche vs. Toronto Maple Leafs drew 319,000 viewers on TNT, Survivor drew 4,699,000 viewers on CBS, Expedition X drew 569,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, The Challenge drew 271,000 viewers on MTV, and Summer House drew 470,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 258,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 39,000 viewers (down 9.3%), Females 18-34 had 43,000 viewers, Males 35-49 had 134,000 viewers (up 22.9%), and Females 35-49 had 42,000 viewers (up 90.9%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 41.4% compared to the same week last year. Meltzer also reported that one main reason for the large declines is due to the unknown key demographic viewership migration on MAX compared to last year’s show.
