A recent episode of the SI Media with Jimmy Traina podcast featured MJF as the guest. One of the topics discussed included MJF’s thoughts about the rumors of him making $15 million per year for his current contract with AEW.
MJF – “$15 billion with a B?”
Jimmy clarified that it was million with a M.
MJF – “Oh, that’s a little light. That’s a little on the light side. I can say that with full confidence. That’s a little on the light side.”
Jimmy then clarified that it was per year.
MJF – “Oh, we’re talking per year? No, no, no.”
MJF also gave his thoughts about the length of his current contract with AEW and the future of his wrestling career. MJF also stated that by the time his current contract ends, he will have made over $15 million from it.
“The response would be none of your business. What I will tell you is, the amount of money that I get, by the time it is over, far surpasses $15 million. I am making top guy money, whether it be an All Elite Wrestling contract or WWE contract. I am 28 years old. Every single top act in professional wrestling, besides me, is either in their late 30s, late 40s, or early 50s. For the people who are panicked, ‘Oh my gosh, am I ever going to get to see MJF outside of All Elite Wrestling? Am I ever going to get to see MJF in this place or that place?’ The reason I was paid top dollar is because I’m a generational talent. I won the bidding war. WWE didn’t win the bidding war. AEW didn’t win the bidding war. I won the bidding war because I’m making an absurd amount of money. By the time the contract is up, I will still be absurdly young, and then I will be able to, once again, make an absurd amount of money in the next bidding war. You know who is going to win again? Me. Now, All Elite Wrestling is winning for the simple fact that they get to have me on their television show. I am, without a shadow of a doubt, the biggest ratings draw the company has. I have been one of the top merchandise sellers since the inception. I have been a top guy in the company since the inception.”
MJF also gave his thoughts about John Cena’s heel turn at WWE’s Elimination Chamber 2025 event and the online criticisms over rapper Travis Scott being in the ring for the moment.
“I get really annoyed when people in either company pretend that they don’t — let me put it this way: Yes, I was watching it (WWE Elimination Chamber). I was watching it live, it was an awesome moment (John Cena’s heel turn) and everybody should think it was an awesome moment because it was, point blank, end of discussion.
Should Travis Scott be burning sage in the corner? Is that what you were gonna bring up?… So I’m going to play devil’s advocate because I am the devil, right? Somebody might have said that about Dennis Rodman when he was standing there with the n.W.o. back in the day. But because Dennis Rodman was there, ESPN picked it up, serious news affiliates picked it up that ordinarily wouldn’t give professional wrestling the time of day because they’re f*cking morons. They think they’re above pro wrestling. Everything is pro wrestling. So Travis Scott being there, even though people like me or you or wrestling fans who have been watching and are just like, ‘What the f*ck is this guy doing here? I don’t have an emotional attachment to him.’ We might feel that way. But a Travis Scott fan, who works at ESPN or FOX or MSNBC or CNN does not feel that way and they might go, oh sh*t. Travis Scott was involved in this. We should talk about this, right? So, that’s me playing devil’s advocate… But I’m just simply playing devil’s advocate. I’m not even saying these are my feelings. I am just playing devil’s advocate.”
