Cody Rhodes Rejects The Rock’s “His Champion” & Soul Offer, John Cena Turns Heel & Joins The Rock

Saturday’s WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 event at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada featured current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes turning down “The Final Boss” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s offer to become his personal champion and own his soul.

Following John Cena’s victory in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match to secure his title match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41, Rhodes came out to the ring to congratulate Cena. After some words by Cena, the two shook hands.

This led to The Rock’s music playing to interrupt and him coming out to the ring with rapper Travis Scott. The Rock told Rhodes that the moment has arrived and talked about how he will open his arms and Rhodes will come to him and how they will embrace together and Rhodes being his champion. The Rock stated that he wants it all from Cody, his mind, his soul, and “God have mercy, I need your soul.” The Rock then stated that if the answer is “yes” then the American Nightmare will live forever but if the answer is no, then tonight the dream dies again.

The Rock proceeded to open his arms as Rhodes contemplated the decision. Rhodes grabbed the microphone and stated that he wants it all and his soul no longer belongs to me. This led to the crowd giving a shocked reaction leading to Rhodes continuing stating “and you know why? Because I gave my soul to this ring and these people a long time ago.” This led to loud cheer from the crowd and Rhodes telling The Rock “go fuck yourself” to roaring approval from the crowd.

Cena looked on being excited over what just happened as Rhodes walked up to him to give a handshake and the two embraced in a hug. This led to Cena looking at The Rock and his face suddenly changing as The Rock gave the throat slash gesture. Cena then gave a low blow kick and attacked Rhodes busting him up after a vicious attack involving him striking Rhodes with the title belt and choking him with Rhodes’ tie.

Cena then grabbed Rhodes title and posed with it up in the air as The Rock and Travis Scott looked on in approval. All three men then left leaving a bloody Rhodes in the ring.
