Page joins Will Ospreay as those who have officially declared for this year’s tournament.

AEW News & Notes

AEW filed a new trademark for “Titanes Del Aire” on March 18th for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes to the United States Patent and Trademark Office. This is the name being used by Komander and Hologram for their tag team.

Saraya recently announced on Twitter the current schedule for her upcoming book tour signings starting on Saturday, March 22nd.

The Orlando Sentinel held a recent interview with Jeff Jarrett. One of the topics discussed included Jarrett’s thoughts about his belief that Will Ospreay is the best in-ring athlete currently in the world. Jarrett stated “Will is, I believe, the greatest athlete in the ring today. I was around a young AJ Styles, who amazed me with his athletic ability back in the day. Will is cut out of that same mold and even more so because the athlete you know of today is better, bigger, faster, stronger. That’s just the nature of the beast. Their match [Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher from AEW Revolution] was off the charts.

In the same interview, Jeff Jarrett also gave his thoughts about why he believes tribalism is a good thing for the pro wrestling industry. Jarrett stated “I love tribalism. I embrace it because it is the nature of what pro wrestling is –- home team vs. away, good vs. evil, black, white, shades of gray. So many aspects of this world are super-divisive and super-tribalistic. But in wrestling, with that ability to evoke emotion, you create more chatter, you create more passion and you create more revenue.

As noted before, Eddie Kingston has been out of action for AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling since this past May due to a broken leg, torn ACL, and torn meniscus injuries and surgery. In a recent interview with PWInsider, Kingston provided an update on his recovery from his injuries. Kingston stated “I just f–ked it up from stress and got meds for it. It is getting better and better everyday. You can quote me here: I was stressed out about dumb sh– I can’t control. So I f–ked up my stomach being a a–hole, but I’m trying to get better and I will get better.  As of late, I have been up and down and up and down. It was a normal day for me. I just don’t have certain things that I use to get my aggression out. This has been the longest I have ever been from my lady, pro wrestling.  This is as honest as I can be Mike.

In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, “Speedball” Mike Bailey gave his thoughts about his decision to sign with AEW. Bailey stated “I think my biggest accomplishment in pro wrestling, and in life to be honest, is making every single year better than the last. It was time for me to step up and make it to the big leagues, and AEW is where the best wrestle, and in my opinion, it’s where I belong.” Bailey also gave his thoughts about how AEW is currenly his main focus right now but he is interested in also wrestling for NJPW and CMLL as well. Bailey stated “Obviously, right now, AEW is my focus. It’s where I want to be, it’s where I want to wrestle, but wrestling for New Japan and CMLL and going to those places to represent AEW would be a huge honor.

In a recent interview with the F Y’all Podcast with CT Fletcher, MVP gave his thoughts about who would be his choice out of anyone, dead or alive, to slap without repercussions. MVP stated “You know who I want to say. You know who I want to say, I just don’t know if it would be the best thing to say right now. Let’s just say, in my professional career, I have only one regret. There is one individual, an executive for a wrestling company that I wish I would have slapped the shit out of when I wanted to, and I never got the chance. I’ll leave it at that. That’s not hard to figure out.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent episode of the What Happened When with Tony Schiavone podcast, co-host Tony Schiavone gave his thoughts about RJ City, AEW EVP and Head of Global Production Mike Mansury, and Vice President of Content Development Jen Pepperman being some of the unsung heroes currently in AEW. Schiavone stated “Darryl Marshall in production. He’s like the tape producer, he’s in charge of all the replays you see and everything. Of course, he has a whole staff with him back there, but he’s kind of in charge back there. Topher Dispenza. Topher is kind of the backstage producer. He’s in charge of the rehearsals that we do, entrances and everything. He’s a young kid that’s really taken the bull by the horns. RJ City. Jen Pepperman. Obviously, Mike Mansury.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
