Ari Emanuel Comments on WWE’s Initial Talks with Netflix were About NXT
A recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show podcast featured Endeavor CEO and TKO Group CEO and Executive Chairman Ari Emanuel as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Emanuel’s thoughts about WWE’s partnership with Netflix and both them and Netflix being happy with the numbers for WWE’s shows on the service.
“They’re incredible partners. Bela [Bajaria] there has been incredible. Ted Sarandos has been incredible. The show’s performing. So we are thrilled. And I think they’re happy. The numbers are up.”
Emanuel also gave his thoughts about WWE’s initial talks with Netflix were for a potential deal for their NXT brand.
“I had a breakfast with Bela, and started talking about it. She runs all of content and programming underneath Ted Sarandos at Netflix.
We did a presentation to her. And then all of a sudden — it first started talking about NXT, actually, and then it just immediately moved to Raw. And over Christmas, a year and a half ago, or whatever, we’re on a Zoom. It’s all approved.
We have to have a conversation with Ted Sarandos. He’s in London seeing the Stranger Things play. We get on the Zoom, [Mark] Shapiro and I, right before Christmas and the Christmas holiday. He’s there with his CFO. It all gets done. We hang up the phone. We do a jig.”

Lyra Valkyria Comments on Her Main Roster Experience “Suits Me a Whole Lot More” Than NXT
A recent episode of the Battleground Podcast featured current WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Valkyria’s thoughts about her current run in WWE’s main roster and how it suits her more than her time in the NXT brand.
“I feel like NXT is such a bit — a faster pace. Whereas on the main roster, I feel like I have more, I suppose, more room for creativity. A lot of the time, even just traveling week-to-week, I don’t know, there’s just a lot more space. I feel like in NXT, you’re in the [Performance Center] every single day. So I just feel like the lifestyle of Monday Night Raw suits me a whole lot more. And I get to see so much more of the States. I get to travel. I’m absolutely loving it.”
