Destiny Wrestling Promoter Issues Statement Over Marty Scrull Booking Online Backlash
Destiny Wrestling promoter Emilio Albi recently issued an official statement regarding the online backlash against his company over them booking Marty Scurll for their upcoming Icons IV event on April 6th in Mississauga, Canada.
“Destiny is and always takes steps to make sure everyone is safe. And no one should ever feel uncomfortable at our shows. We have spoken to all talent on the show about this booking, to make sure everyone is ok with it. And by all accounts everyone feels the same about the situation. Marty is in a different stage in his life and is about to be married. He has matured and is looking for another chance to do better on the world stage. I can’t tell you what to do but I can promise you the show will be entertaining and a great opportunity to see international talent in your area.
Again I thank you for the email and if there is anything else we can do for you please reach out anytime and thanks again for your amazing support of independent wrestling.”
Scurll had been among the wrestlers named during the #SpeakingOut movement in 2020 over his allegations of him sexually assaulted a minor. Scrull later claimed that his encounter was consensual.
