Update:
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources provided additional details regarding the behind-the-scenes management changes made today within TNA Wrestling.
Johnson reported that the new executive brought in to become the new Executive Producer is George Veras. Prior to his hiring, Veras had worked for ABC Sports, NBC, CBS’ NFL Today series, the Cleveland Browns, and the Football Hall of Fame throughout his career.
Johnson reported that the current belief is that Veras will be putting together his own team for the reason for Josh Mathews and others departures from TNA.
Johnson also reported that those spoken to stated that Mark Brown was recently hired to be a new Director for TNA. Prior to his hiring, Brown had worked for Ring of Honor as a Director during the Sinclair Broadcast Group ownership era and also had worked with New Japan Pro Wrestling for their events in the United States.
In regards to Cicione, Johnson reported that while Cicione has left TNA, he is still remaining with TNA’s parent company Anthem.
Johnson also reported that TNA is currently believed to not have made any changes to the creative side of the company as part of their management shakeups today.
TNA Wrestling reportedly has made several changes to their management earlier today, according to PWInsider.
Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Anthony Cicione has exited from his position as TNA’s President.
Johnson reported that it is currently not known yet who will be replacing Cicione for that role nor the reason for his departure.
Johnson also reported that those spoken to stated that a new executive has been brought in to oversee production and other aspects of the company previously handled by Cicione. No other details regarding this new executive is currently known.
Johnson also reported that both Josh Mathews and Christy Hemme have departed from TNA as of this morning.
Prior to their departures, Cicione had been working as TNA’s President since February of 2024 following Scott D’Amore’s firing. Mathews had been working as a Senior Producer and TNA’s Senior Director of Digital Media while Hemme had been in charge of the company’s social media division.
