In a recent interview with Monopoly Events, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley gave his thoughts about AEW’s importance in the wrestling industry and him being grateful for it helping increase the pay scales of wrestlers in both AEW and WWE. Foley stated “I think they’ve been really important in raising the remuneration that wrestles receive. I’m not saying this out of any disrespect, but WWE is to me in its own league, but I’m really grateful for AEW. They have great matches on a regular basis, and without them, the WWE superstars would not be making that they deserve. So thank you, Tony Khan.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Undisputed, Kyle Fletcher gave his thoughts about him recently reuniting with Mark Davis in the Don Callis Family. Fletcher stated “I haven’t talked about Davis in a long time. It’s nice now that he’s part of the family, I can hype him up again. There is just a grit to Davis, a harshness to him. Every time I see him on the apron and chop the absolute f— out of people, it just grabs me. I love watching him wrestle. I’m glad we’re back together. I can’t wait to watch him again. When he gets his opportunity, he’s going to absolutely smash it.” Fletcher also gave his thoughts about him shaving his head during his promo segment on the October 22, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite. Fletcher stated “My family always hated my dumb hair. That always fueled me to keep it. My girlfriend Skye was a little apprehensive at the time, but she likes it now. There are people who love it and people who hate it, and some people miss the hair, but if they’re talking about it, that’s a good thing.“
In a recent virtual fan signing event for K&S WrestleFest, former AEW and current TNA talent Frankie Kazarian gave his thoughts about how he had helped AEW CEO Tony Khan book battle royal matches during the early days of AEW. Kazarian stated “Tony (Khan) loves wrestling. That’s one thing we all have in common. He loves this business but, we had a lot of conversations. I helped him. A lot of those early battle royals, he would call me up and have me come down and book them with him because I had done a bunch of multiman nonsense matches and he would ask my opinion a lot which was cool, you know? And whether he listened, that’s another story. Sometimes he did but, yeah, and then those days started… He surrounded himself around other people or honestly, he started just tightening his grip a little bit more and doing stuff more on his own so, which is fine. I was happy to help but I’m also just happy to be a wrestler. I don’t necessarily need to be in that position.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
In a recent interview with the Busted Open Radio After Dark podcast, Harley Cameron gave her thoughts about her getting to perform in from of her home country crowd at AEW’s Grand Slam Australia event. Cameron stated “It was very nice to go home and kind of show everyone, like, hey, a lot of sacrifice happened but, it all paid off and I’m doing what I love now and just having everyone there meant the world to me. It was one of the best moments of my life for sure.” Cameron also gave her thoughts about her loss to Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship at the event. Cameron stated “I think that not winning that day (at AEW Grand Slam Australia) just lit a fire in me and I’ve come home not feeling defeated. I’ve come home feeling inspired. I want to do better, I want to be better, I want to learn more. My main goal and prerogative is to just expand in every way that I can. I just want to be in the ring, I want to be training, I want to be learning from the best. I want to be just doing everything possible to know that the next time that-that opportunity comes that I’m gonna keep evolving and keep getting further and further in the progression of my career and I haven’t been doing it very long. I’m very proud of myself and where I am now but, Mercedes (Moné) is absolutely incredible. She’s one of the best wrestlers alive, and it felt very good having that competitive match with her and she brought out something new in me, she pushed me to new levels and I took a lot of positivity away from it and I just wanna come back better and better and that is the goal.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
