Samoa Joe Proclaims His Group Being Called “The Opps”
Wednesday’s taped AEW Dynamite show at the HEB Center in Cedar Park, Texas featured Samoa Joe revealing a new name for his group with HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata.
Following Joe, HOOK, & Shibata’s victory over a team of jobbers, Joe grabbed a microphone and introduced himself and his “brothers” HOOK and Shibata. Joe stated that this is about three men who have a misunderstanding and the only answer is violence. Joe then stated that what stands before you are three men who always have a problem and beat everyone to solve it. Joe stated what stands here is The Opps. Joe then turned his attention towards Christian Cage and The Patriarchy and after some words, challenged them to a Trios match for next week’s show.

Cope vs. Jon Moxley for AEW World Title Set for AEW Revolution 2025
Wednesday’s taped AEW Dynamite show also featured the first official match announced for Revolution 2025, which takes place on March 9th at the Cyrpto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
This new match announced was an AEW World Championship match of Cope vs. Jon Moxley (c).
This match was intitially setup over recent weeks shows over Cope trying to get Moxley to accept a match for his title at Revolution 2025 and Moxley’s refusing each time.
During tonight’s show, Cope and Jay White ambushed Moxley and Marina Shafir backstage and stole the briefcase containing Moxley’s AEW World title.

In follow-up segments, an angry Moxley responded backstage to Cope and White’s attack and theft incident while Cope and White responded afterwards mocking Moxley for his missing briefcase and stated that if he wants it back, all he has to do is meet them in the ring at the end of tonight.
In another follow-up segment, Cope and White came out to the ring with Moxley’s briefcase. After some words, Cope left the ring and grabbed a giant case from under the ring. Cope proceeded to pull out his spiked board named “Spike” and told Moxley if he doesn’t come out right now, then he will smash the briefcase and take the title. This led to an angry Moxley coming out and after some heated words, Moxley accepted Cope’s challenge for Revolution and promised to snap his neck when they meet. Cope responded back about Moxley accepting the challenge and stated he was going to smash the briefcase anyways, which he proceeded to do. This led to the Death Riders’ Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, & PAC rushing out and a brawl breaking out leading to White and Cope clearing the ring of the Death Riders. This match was then made official for Revolution 2025.

Wednesday’s taped AEW Dynamite show also featured one new match and one new segment announced for the card of next week’s show on February 19th at the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona.
This match and segment was setup following promos, storyline angles, and match card graphics throughout the show.
In regards to the new match, this was announced to be a Trios match of The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Kip Sabian, & Nick Wayne) vs. The Opps (HOOK, Katsuyori Shibata, & Samoa Joe).
In regards to the new segment, this was announced to be a face-to-face promo segment featuring MJF and Hangman Adam Page.
