R-Truth Comments on Possibility of Turning Heel Again in the Future in WWE
A recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast featured R-Truth as the guest. One of the topics discussed included R-Truth’s thoughts about the possibility of him turning heel again in the future in WWE and him currently feeling mixed over the idea.
“There’s a part of me that does want to turn heel again. I think it’s a selfish part so that people can see me as a heel, just because a couple of generations have just known me as R-Truth the fun guy, the comedic guy. A lot of people have not seen that side of me that can still be brought out. The only time I went to talk about turning heel [they said] ‘I don’t think people want to see you as a heel, you to make people feel good.’ There’s a part of me that wants to turn heel, selfishly, because I can be a good heel, I can be an asshole. But there’s so many bad guys, you gotta be one of the good ones. Everybody’s a bad guy. It’s easy to be a bad guy. The selfish part of me would love to turn heel and be a heel, but the majority of me is like I could never be a heel. People would think it’s cool if I did something bad, if I did something heelish they would think it’s cool. I smoked a cigarette and they thought that was the coolest thing on TV. To be a heel you have to get that real, genuine hatred heel heat. Mine would be more of like, they will want me to bash somebody’s head in. Selfishly, I would love to see it one time, but I don’t have to.”

Marella stated “Well, they haven’t called yet. My daughter [Arianna], she had a little shoulder surgery, she’s back in the ring from it, but she hasn’t re-debuted yet. So I was pitching, I’m like, I don’t think it’s ever been done, father-daughter at the same Rumble. So it’d be really good for her to return to the programming. I’m down to show up and get that experience. Royal Rumble is my favorite pay-per-view of the year.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, former WWE and current AEW talent Adam Copeland gave his thoughts about John Cena’s upcoming retirement tour in WWE and his belief that Cena’s retirement will be a harder thing for fans to accept than Cena. Copeland stated “We had talked briefly when he came back and I was with WWE. He said, ‘How are you doing this stuff, man? You’re having half an hour matches and stuff,’ but we haven’t talked about retiring or anything like that. John’s thought this through, and he’s thought of every scenario and every conceivable direction and all of those things. He’s an intelligent man, so, I’m sure he’s already come to terms, and I think he’s been coming to terms with it for a long time. I think it’ll be harder for the fan base to come to terms, which usually ends up being the case.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
