As noted before, WWE cancelled their NXT LVL Up series and held the final tapings for the series this past late December at their Performance Center. WWE’s new WWE LFG series is currently expected to replace NXT LVL Up for their NXT developmental talent.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE officials are currently working on a new series for their NXT developmental brand.
This new series reportedly is currently expected to be called NXT Evolve and debut at some point in 2025. Meltzer reported that this new upcoming series is currently planned to be headed creatively by WWE executive and EVOLVE founder Gabe Sapolsky.
This new series reportedly was described to be similar in essence to NXT LVL Up in regards to featuring NXT developmental talent who are not regulars on television but “that instead of just matches, to do angles and promos and book it more like a television show.”
The landing spot for this new upcoming series is currently not known beyond Meltzer reporting that it will be shows “taped only for television/streaming.”
WWE currently owns the EVOLVE name following them entering a partnership with the indie promotion in 2015 and later purchased them in 2020.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources provided some additional details. Those spoken to reportedly stated that the current belief is that tapings would be held at the Performance Center and using talent under WWE ID deals. Johnson reported that this was a reason why some WWE ID talents were shown on camera during this past Tuesday’s NXT show.
Johnson reported that Sapolsky had signed a new contract with WWE in late 2024 and the new WWE LFG show on A&E is still considered within the company to be the successor to NXT LVL Up and not this new upcoming show.
