Corey Graves Moved to NXT Commentary
Tuesday’s WWE NXT New Year’s Evil 2025 show at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California featured SmackDown brand commentator Corey Graves making his official return to NXT’s commentary team.
At the start of the show, NXT lead commentator Vic Joseph introduced Graves’ return to the NXT brand’s commentary team for tonight’s show alongside himself and Booker T.

This was Graves’ first appearance on NXT commentary since February of 2017.
The Rock Makes Appearance on NXT New Year’s Evil 2025
Tuesday’s NXT New Year’s Evil 2025 show also featured Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson making a special guest appearance.
At the start of the show, a van was seen pulling into the parking lot. The Rock came out and made his way into the venue.

Later in the show, NXT General Manager Ava was seen with “All Ego” Ethan Page arguing about her issues with Page’s recent attack on Je’Von Evans. Page responded back arguring about his issues over not being booked on tonight’s historic show. This led to The Rock showing up behind Page to interrupt and engaged in some akward banter with Page. The Rock then stated that he is the Final Boss but on this show, Ava is the Final Boss and asked Page if they are going to be cool, then he needs to be cool with Ava, which Page responded back saying he was cool with Ava. Page then left and Ava and Rock talked about what Rock was going to say later tonight in another akward exchanged that ended with The Rock saying he “doesn’t know what the f*** he is going to say.

In another follow-up segment, The Rock came out to the ring for the main event segment and gave a rambling speech that ended with him praising the NXT locker room and staff and did his usual “If You Smell” catchphrase that got cut off by The CW before he could finish.

Giulia Wins NXT Women’s Title at NXT New Year’s Evil 2025
Tuesday’s NXT New Year’s Evil 2025 show also featured Giulia defeating Roxanne Perez to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.

This was Giulia’s first championship victory of her WWE NXT career.
Stephanie Vaquer Wins Shot at NXT Women’s North American Title Only to Have to Defend It Against Shotzi Next Week
Tuesday’s NXT New Year’s Evil 2025 show also featured Stephanie Vaquer defeating Kelani Jordan, Cora Jade, and Lola Vice in a Fatal Four-way match to become the new #1 Contender for the NXT Women’s North American Championship.

In a follow-up segment, NXT GM Ava was seen in her office with Vaquer and Fallon Henley talking about their upcoming match for the NXT Women’s North American title. This led to Shotzi showing up to interrupt and demanded to be included since she scored pin over Henley earlier. This led to Vaquer complaining and Henley stating that she had a great idea of Vaquer and Shotzi competing next week and the winner would face her. Ava agreed to the idea and made the match official for next week’s show.

Lexis King Wins Back NXT Heritage Cup at NXT New Year’s Evil 2025
Tuesday’s NXT New Year’s Evil 2025 show also featured Lexis King defeating Charlie Dempsey to regain the NXT Heritage Cup Championship.

This match was held under Sudden Death rules with only one fall needed to declare a victor. The reason for the rules change was due to NXT GM Ava had stripped King of his title after not being okay with how he won it the first time under a disqualification result but changed the standard Heritage Cup rules into a Sudden Death rules match as a result for the rematch.

Tuesday’s NXT New Year’s Evil 2025 show also featured Oba Femi defeating Eddy Thorpe and Trick Williams in a Triple Threat to become the new NXT Champion.

This was Femi’s first NXT Championship victory of his WWE NXT career and his second championship victory, following the NXT North American title.
