Backstage Update on Wyatt Sicks WWE Absence Status
As noted before, the Wyatts Sicks were recently moved over from WWE’s RAW brand to their SmackDown brand as part of the current transfer window period for their RAW, SmackDown, and NXT brands. Despite the move to SmackDown, The Wyatt Sicks have been noticeably absent on WWE programming since the December 9th WWE RAW show.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the reason for the Wyatt Sicks’ current absence is due to an injury-related issue.
It was reported that those spoken to stated that while Alexa Bliss has yet to return, her on-going absence has not significantly impacted WWE officials long-term plans for the group.
In a follow-up report, Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent episode of Fightful’s The Hump podcast that his sources provided additional details. Sapp reported that one member of the Wyatt Sicks is currently dealing with an undisclosed injury.
New Stephanie McMahon WWE Project in Production
WWE reportedly is currently working on a new project involving former WWE co-CEO Stephanie McMahon.
PWinsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that a new WWE project involving McMahon was officially revealed during WWE’s town hall meeting with their employees on Wednesday.
Johnson reported that McMahon has been working on a project simliar to ESPN’s NFL series Peyton Places. ESPN’s series is described on their website as “revisits seminal moments in NFL history through conversations with former players, coaches and other key figures about football and its cultural impact.”
Johnson also reported that McMahon has already filmed content for this new upcoming project with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Cody Rhodes, and “several others” also being involved.
No other details regarding the project nor its timeline were revealed beyond it being something that’s “in the pipeline being worked on for the future.”
WWE Confirms Jordynne Grace Signing & Current Plans for Grace & Penta
As noted before, Jordynne Grace’s contract with TNA Wrestling expired earlier this month and recently signed a new contract with WWE.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE President Nick Khan officially confirmed that Grace had signed with the company during a town hall meeting with employees held on Wednesday.
Johnson reported that Khan had stated that they had “high hopes” for Grace and what she will bring to the company.
Besides Grace, WWE official also acknowledged Penta and played a sizzle reel of his RAW appearances. WWE officials also reportedly talked about how they see something truly special in him while bringing up all of his social media engagement.
