TNA X-Division and TNA Tag Titles Matches Set for TNA Genesis 2025
TNA Wrestling announced two new matches for the card of TNA Gensis 2025, which takes place on January 19, 2025 at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas.
The first new match announced was a TNA World Tag Team Championship match of The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) vs. The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) (c).

The second new match announced was a TNA X-Division Championship match of Ace Austin vs. Moose (c).

David Finlay’s Contract with NJPW Reportedly Expiring Soon
David Finlay’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling reportedly is currently set to expire soon, according to Fightful Select.
Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Finlay is currently expected to remain part of NJPW and NJPW officials have expressed interest in keeping him in the company.
Finaly is currently scheduled to defend his IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship against Yota Tsuji at Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4th and compete in a singles match against Brody King at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
Finlay has been signed with NJPW since May of 2015.
Ric Flair Comments on Being Interested in Wrestling One More Match
A recent episode of the Five Star Podcast featured WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Flair’s thoughts about him not getting the chance to potentially wrestle or do much physicality during his time in AEW.
“Once Tony (Khan) found out I was on blood thinners, he wouldn’t let me get in the ring.”
Flair also gave his thoughts about if he has one more match in him for his wrestling career.
“Hell yeah, I do.”
Flair last wrestled in July of 2022 for Jim Crockett Promotions’ Ric Flair’s Last Match event.

Misc. Wrestling News & Notes
Thursday’s ROH TV show for Ring of Honor featured QT Marshall vs. Komander in a ROH World Television Championship Proving Ground match going to a 10-Minute Time Limit draw. As a result, Marshall earned a shot at the ROH World TV title for a future ROH show due to him going the distance in the Proving Ground match.
WrestleCon announced that former WWE talent Indi Hartwell will be making an appearance for the company at their WrestleCon Indianapolis convention on February 1st in Indianapolis, Indiana. This will be Hartwell’s first wrestling appearance since her release from WWE this past November.
All Japan Pro Wrestling announced that they have recently signed freelancer Hideki Suzuki to an official contract with the company.
As noted before, former wrestler Tammy Sytch was sentenced to over 17 years in prison this past November following her being convicted of the charges against her over a fatal car accident involving Sytch in March of 2022. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that District Court of Appeal of the State of Florida, Fifth District recently ruled to uphold the conviction against Sytch based on recent court records. Johnson reported that the court had issued a “Per Curiam Affirmed” ruling, which in legal terms means that the court affirmed the ruling of the trial court without writing an opinion. Johnson also reported that Sytch’s court appointed lawyer had withdrawn from the case due to the attorney had determined that Sytch’s attempted appeal was without arguable merit.
As noted before, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.’s current contract with Pro Wrestling NOAH expires on January 2nd. In a recent interview with NOAH, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. revealed that his final match with the company will be on January 11th. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. stated “The match at Korakuen on January 11th will be my last match for NOAH. I think now is the time to go back to Mexico, recharge my batteries & become even stronger. Please come to Korakuen Hall to watch Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr’s final fight!“
Joe Hendry announced that he will be making an appearance at the Chris Jericho Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea cruise event on January 31st to February 4th.
Fightful Select reported that several TNA talents contracts with TNA Wrestling expired on January 1st. Besides the previously known expiring contracts, it was reported that Steph De Lander’s contract also has expired and she is currently a free agent. De Lander joins KUSHIDA, Aiden Prince, Bhupinder Gujjar, Trent Seven, and TNA ring announcer Jade Chung whose contracts officially expired at the end of 2024.

- Six-Man Tag Team match – The System (JDC, Eddie Edwards, & Brian Myers) vs. Eric Young, Jonathan Gresham, & Steve Maclin

- The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) vs. The Good Hands (Jason Hotch & John Skyler)

Game Changer Wrestling announced two new matches for the card of their The People vs. GCW event on January 19th at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, New York:
- Steel Cage match – Richard Holliday vs. Charles Mason

Major League Wrestling announced one new match for the card of their MLW Fusion taping on January 11th in North Richland Hills, Texas:
