El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. Expired NOAH Contract & Wrestling Career Future Update
As noted before, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.’s contract with Pro Wrestling NOAH officially expired earlier this month and he is currently a free agent.
Mas Lucha held a recent interview with El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. One of the topics discussed included Hijo providing an update on his current free agency status.
“Right now we have the schedule full up until May so we will do all the currently scheduled dates. I am an independent wrestler so if a promotion is interested in my services, the year has 365 days and I am ready to take on all new challenges.”
Hijo also gave his thoughts about the possibility of him working outside of Mexico and his decision for the future of his wrestling career will be based on what would be best for himself and to elevate the prestige of his mask.
“Despite everything going around on social media, the adequate question to ask would be what I wanted. People will soon know what I want, but my main focus is what is best for me and make sure this mask continues to shine, whether in Mexico or outside of Mexico. Always focused on positive things that also favor Lucha Libre.”

In a recent virtual fan signing event for K&S WrestleFest, TNA talent Steph De Lander gave her thoughts about valuable advice she received from Drew McIntyre on how to approach her post-WWE wrestling career. De Lander stated “Well, they literally said to me, they were like, ‘Do the Drew McIntyre,’ and then come back and be straight to the top… so then I messaged Drew and I was like, ‘Hey. I got told to do what you did. What’d you do?’ And he sent me a whole bunch of stuff… and I make sure that I’m following what he did and I look at people like Drew and Cody (Rhodes) and (Matt) Cardona and Samoa Joe and people that have either been fired and rehired or released, went to WWE later in their career or people that have been in multiple different companies and had really lengthy careers… and even Chelsea (Green). She got released and then did some stuff on the indies and TNA, whatever else. Got rehired and now she’s one of the most over people on the show. So, I think there’s ways to do it but you have to be willing to — you know, I had one day at home this week. You’ve gotta be willing to, after a full loop of TV, be home for a day and then fly out on a Monday to do this. That takes a special kind of person and I think most people — you’ve got to really want it, and I think you can’t half-ass it and if you half-ass it, that’s when it doesn’t work.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
In a recent interview with the DeLoco Podcast, TNA talent Tessa Blanchard gave her thoughts about her interest in wrestling in WWE in the future. Blanchard stated “Hey, like I said, never say never. Right now, my main focus is TNA Wrestling, what I can do in the TNA ring. Like I said, that’s kind of where I put everything on pause. So I always said I had unfinished business in the wrestling business. So to come back and kind of resume where we paused everything, it’s an honor. To be able to push the TNA brand, like I said, I believe it. There’s so many talented people, some people that I’ve gotten to share the ring with, some people that I haven’t yet. But all of us being under that TNA umbrella and this WWE partnership, it does nothing but help us. It’s an exciting time to be a part of TNA Wrestling.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
