As noted before, Odyssey Jones was released from WWE this past September following allegations of domestic violence against him. Jones recently issued an official statement denying the allegations and stating that he was seeking legal action against his accuser.
Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that Jones, real name Omari Palmer, was granted an order of protection against his former partner in September of 2024 based on court records from the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Orange County, Florida.
In his filing, Palmer claimed that he was the target of multiple incidents of harassment and threats from his ex-partner and stemming from an incident on a cruise ship in May 2024. Palmer claimed that this included physical attacks against him. Palmer also claimed that his ex-partner’s behavior was escalating and that he felt he was in “imminent danger.”
Thurston reported that the legal documents they were able to review do not include statements from Palmer’s ex-partner. Thurston reported that they had reached out to an email address believed to belong to Palmer’s ex-partner but did not receive a response yet.
Thurston also reported that there are no known criminal charges or arrests that have been made related to these incidents.
Palmer reportedly was granted a temporary injunction for protection against his ex-partner on September 6, 2024 and was extended twice, first for the two months from September 17 to November 17, 2024 and later for an additional three years on January 6, 2025 to push it through early 2028.
Palmer’s filing also included him stating that him and his ex-partner had begun dating in 2017 but separated in 2018 and both had filed an order of protection against each other with hers being denied. Palmer also stated that their relationship had resumed in August of 2023 but they did not live together.
Palmer also claimed that there was an incident in December of 2023 at a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale which he alleges that his ex-partner “showed up uninvited and unannounced and attacked me in front of my friend and other witnesses.”
In regards to the cruise trip incident, Palmer claimed that his ex-partner was intoxicated at the time and physically attacked him over her believing that he had interacting inappropriately with another female.
“[S]he believed I interacted inappropriately with another female. She became increasingly more irate and started punching, slapping, and kicking me. She was screaming at me the whole time. I attempted to defend myself from her attack by hugging her arms to her side.”
Palmer claimed that his ex-partner was taken into custody on the ship and removed from the room they shared. Palmer also stated that he believed she was later picked up from the ship by her family.
“After that incident, she has made numerous threats to get me back in any way she can. She has made up lies about me, and went as far as to contact my new place of employment and succeeded in getting me fired this week.”
Palmer also stated that he had filed a related police report with the Maitland Police Department in Florida alleging his ex-partner of stalking him.
