As noted before, John Cena will be holding a retirement tour for his in-ring wrestling career in 2025. Next year’s WrestleMania 41 event will be the final WrestleMania match of Cena’s career. Cena is currently believed to be competing in an Undisputed WWE Championship match at the event.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed that WWE officials current plans are for Cody Rhodes to be Cena’s final WrestleMania opponent for his wrestling career. Meltzer reported that this match is also currently planned to be for the Undisputed WWE Championship and would be for the storyline of Cena attempting to break the World title reigns record he currently shares with Ric Flair.
Meltzer reported that these plans are not etched in stone and could change if Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson ends up wrestling at WrestleMania 41.
Meltzer speculated that WWE’s upcoming RAW premiere show on Netflix on January 6th could end up tipping WWE’s hands on their actual plans for the WWE title match at WrestleMania 41.
