Tony Khan Comments on “It’s Been Huge Having Kenny Omega Back In AEW”
As noted before, Kenny Omega made his surprise return from diverticulitis to AEW at this past December’s Worlds End 2024 event and made his official return to AEW Dynamite at last week’s show in Clarksville, Tennessee.
A recent episode of the Battleground Podcast featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about Omega’s recent return to the AEW ring.
“It’s so exciting to have some of the top stars returning to AEW. Tonight, Kenny Omega returns to the AEW ring for the first time in over a year. We haven’t seen Kenny Omega in the ring here in America in a really long time. He did have a comeback match in Japan that went very well, but now he’s being tested against one of the most powerful and one of the most impressive athletes in really in my lifetime that I can ever remember, and that’s The Machine Brian Cage. It’s been huge having Kenny Omega back in AEW. I’m incredibly excited about Omega returning to AEW and all the possibilities and everything that comes out of tonight, when Kenny Omega returns to the ring on Dynamite against Brian Cage.”

Renee Paquette Comments on Potential of Her Doing Commentary Work in AEW
A recent episode of ESPN 1530’s Cincy 360 with Tony Pike & Austin Elmore show featured Renee Paquette as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Paquette’s thoughts about her interest in potentially working in commentary in AEW.
“Sometimes, I think about it. There are aspects that I miss, and obviously, this is a far different circumstance with AEW versus what I had done previously. I think about it, sometimes. I love getting to do the interviews and I love getting to do the long-form interviews or the exclusive sitdowns. I love getting to do that. Every now and then, I’m listening, and I get a little bit of the itch. A little bit. We’ll see.”
Paquette previously worked as a commentator in WWE for their RAW brand from 2018 to 2019 and also for their NXT and Superstars brands from 2013 to 2015 during her time in the company.

Julia Hart Comments on Her In-Ring Return from Shoulder Injury
Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown on SI held a recent interview with Julia Hart. One of the topics discussed included Hart’s thoughts about her recent in-ring return from a shoulder injury and her current health status.
“I feel fine. I didn’t even think about my shoulder during the match with Jamie. I was just so focused on beating up Jamie.
I actually was pretty healthy at the end of September. That’s when I was pretty much almost 100 percent. I wasn’t back to full strength, but mobility wise, I was pretty good. I think it was better that I took more time just to relax and to make sure I was 1000 percent, instead of just hopping back in right away in September. (At that point) I would have only been three months out. I’m lucky that I’m young and I fixed it now, instead of down the line. I just worked really hard to get that strength back up and to have mobility. It paid off and I’m glad I took more time than I needed.”
