WWE Announces Tonga Loa Suffered Torn Biceps Injury at Survivor Series WarGames 2024

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota featured SmackDown brand commentator Michael Cole announcing that The Bloodline’s Tonga Loa had suffered a torn biceps injury at last Saturday’s Survivor Series WarGames 2024 evvent in Vancouver, Canada.

In a video that aired, Cole confirmed that Loa had suffered the injury following a spot where CM Punk had attacked him with a toolbox during the Men’s WarGames match.

Cole also stated that Loa will be out of action indefinitely as a result of his injury.

American Made Makes Surprise Appearance on Friday’s WWE SmackDown Show

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured RAW brand stable American Made making a surprise appearance.

During the show, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes came out to the ring and talked about his upcoming match against Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event show. This led to American Made’s music playing and the group coming out. Chad Gable stated that the transfer window is about to open and how they might be joining SmackDown. After some more words, Gable & American Made got into the ring.

Gable continued with a series of insults directed at Rhodes revolving around Rhodes being a bad friend to others and him being the definition of superficial. This led to some back-and-forth insults banter between Gable and Rhodes involving Rhodes referencing Gable’s past as “Shorty G” and his own past as Stardust in WWE. After some more banter, Rhodes told Gable to go ask Nick Aldis to make a one-on-one match between them tonight and dropped the microphone and proceeded to leave the ring.

Tiffany Stratton Advances in WWE Women’s US Title Tournament

Friday’s taped WWE SmackDown show also featured one First Round match for the WWE Women’s United States Championship tournament to crown its inaugural champion.

This was a Triple Threat match of Tiffany Stratton defeating Elektra Lopez and Naomi.

As a result of her victory, Stratton will be facing off against Michin in the Semifinal Round of WWE’s Women’s United States Championship tournament.

Johnny Gargano Turns Heel & DIY Wins WWE Tag Titles on Friday’s WWE SmackDown Show

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured Johnny Gargano turning heel and staying united with Tommaso Ciampa.

This heel turn was setup during the WWE Tag Team Championship match between DIY and champions Motor City Machine Guns. Throughout the match, Ciampa and Gargano argued with each other and teased them breaking up only for Gargano to hit a lot blow to Chris Sabin while the referee was not looking. Gargano then laid out Alex Shelley and went up to Ciampa on the apron. Gargano then gave a laugh and stated that was too easy and tagged in Ciampa.

This led to DIY hitting a Meet in the Middle to Shelley for the pinfall victory to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.

In a follow-up segment, DIY were seen celebrating backstage and were quickly joined by Candice LeRae who showed up to celebrate her husband Gargano becoming a tag champion again in WWE.

Dominik Mysterio & Gunther Makes Surprise Appearance on Friday’s WWE SmackDown Show

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured Judgement Day’s Dominik Mysterio and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther making a surprise appearance.

During the show, Mysterio was seen chatting with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis in the background backstage as Bianca Belair was walking backstage following her match against Piper Niven on the show.

Later in the show, Gunther was seen shaking hands with Aldis backstage leading to Carmelo Hayes showing up and asking what as going on.

Gunther and Mysterio’s surprise appearances were part of the opening of WWE’s transfer window that was announced earlier in the show.
