IYO SKY vs. Liv Morgan for Women’s World Title Announced for Dec. 14th Saturday Night’s Main Event

Monday’s WWE RAW show at the Angels of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington featured two new matches announced for the card of WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show, which takes place on December 14th at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

The first new match announced was a WWE Women’s World Championship match of IYO SKY vs. Liv Morgan (c).

This match was setup following SKY recently winning a #1 Contender’s Battle Royal match and the bad blood issues between SKY and Morgan.

The second new match announced was a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match of Finn Balor vs. Gunther (c).

This match was setup following Balor confronting Gunther backstage during the show and demanded a rematch between the two for Gunther’s title, which Gunther refused. Later in the show, Balor ran out to the ring and attacked Gunther following Gunther’s victory over Dominik Mysterio. In another follow-up segment, Balor confronted RAW GM Adam Pearce and demanded a match with Gunther, which Pearce stated that he just came off the phone with Gunther who wanted the same and made their match for the World title official for Saturday Night’s Mian Event show.

  • Undisputed WWE Championship – Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes (c)
  • WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Finn Balor vs. Gunther (c)
  • WWE Women’s World Championship – IYO SKY vs. Liv Morgan (c)
  • WWE Women’s United States Championship – TBD vs. TBD

Full Bracket Revealed for WWE Women’s IC Title Tournament

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured the official reveal of the full bracket for WWE’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship tournament.

This bracket was initially revealed by WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque prior to the start of the show and officially announced prior to the start of the first tournament match during tonight’s show.

Dakota Kai Advances in WWE Women’s IC Title Tournament

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured the official start of WWE’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship tournament to crown its inaugural champion. The show also featured one First Round match for the tournament.

This match was a Triple Threat match of Dakota Kai defeating Shayna Bazler and Katana Chance.

As a result of her victory, Kai will be facing off against the winner of Zoey Stark/Raquel Rodriguez/Kaydan Carter in the Semifinal Round of WWE’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship tournament.

Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods Turns Heel on Big E on Monday’s WWE RAW Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured New Day’s Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods turning heel on Big E and kicking him out of their group.

During the show, RAW GM Adam Pearce was in the ring and introduced Woods and Kingston for tonight’s celebration honoring the 10 year anniversary of New Day.

This led to Woods and Kingston coming out to the ring and looking at all the New Day themed photos and items displayed on the stage and in the ring. After some words by Woods & Kingston reflecting about their success and long road as a group in WWE, Woods stated that they wanted to come out face to face with everyone and what they are about to tell you is not your fault. Woods then stated that they have nothing but love for each and every one of you. Kingston responded stating that they have talked and in light of what went down last week, they both feel that when it comes to New Day going forward …

Before Kingston could finish, Big E’s music interrupted and he came out to the ring.

Big E grabbed a microphone and thanked the fans and stated that he wishes he was here under different circumstances. Big E then talked about Woods & Kingston’s recent issues with each other and them saying stuff to each other that troubled his soul. Big E then talked about how they were all they had when they started New Day ten years ago and how Kingston was mulling retirement and how him and Woods were close to getting fired. Big E then talked about how both of them were at his side after he suffered a neck injury and was at his worst moment to make sure that he was okay. After some more words, Big E stated that until he is medically cleared to return to the ring, he will remind the two of them who they are. Big E stated that he will be here to cheer for you, to root for you, and to uplift you since he will be here every week to be their manager.

This led to an upset Woods responding talking about how Big E waited until now to say this and now he wants to come back. Woods then stated that Big E watched them fight for months and argue to the edge of the cliff when the only thing left to do is jump off the cliff. Woods stated that E left them.

This led to Big E responding back stating that he broke his neck, which led to an upset Kingston responding back stating that E left them. Kingston then talked about how Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, and Edge all broke their necks but they came back. Woods responded stating that they didn’t have anyone waiting for them while Big E had something familiar to come back to. Woods then stated that Big E did nothing and they thrived without him. Kingston responded stating that with as big as you are and the fact you didn’t have surgery, you couldn’t have been back if you didn’t want to.

Big E responded back stating that he has met with doctors which led to Woods responding stating that he tore his Achilles off the bone but he was back in nine months just for you. Kingston responded stating that if Big E really cared about them, you would have been back a long time ago. Kingston then claimed that Big E chose his new life, new ventures, new girlfriend, and desk job over them. Woods responded next stating that there is a burden placed on them where everyone says they miss E and they miss E too but E doesn’t miss them.

After some more hurtful words by Woods & Kingston, Woods told Big E to stop teasing all these people and stated that he is never going to be medically cleared. Woods then told E to leave this ring and get back to your desk where he belongs and they will call him if they need him.

This led to an angry Big E responding back stating that he is not going to throw this away and they can fix this and it has been a decade. Big E then attempted to hug Kingston only for Kingston to stop him. Big E responded asking if it is over like this and left the ring. Kingston and Woods then confronted each other and stated that it is just them now and shook hands.

Drew McIntyre Makes Surprise Return on Monday’s WWE RAW Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured Drew McIntyre making his surprise return to WWE.

Following Seth Rollins’ victory over Sami Zayn in the main event, Rollins told Zayn that instead of blaming him for who was the mystery person who attacked Jey Uso backstage, he should be asking and blaming CM Punk instead.

As Rollins left to the back, Zayn turned around revealing McIntyre standing in the ring and laid out Zayn with a Claymore Kick. McIntyre then looked down at a fallen Zayn as the show went to a close.

This was McIntyre’s first appearance in WWE since this past October’s Bad Blood 2024 event due to a head injury and family-related break.
