Oba Femi Revealed as Eddy Thorpe’s Replacement for Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match

As noted before, NXT GM Ava announced earlier today that Eddy Thorpe had been pulled from the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match due to him not being medically cleared following him being attacked by an unseen assailant during this past Tuesday’s NXT show.

Saturday’s WWE NXT Deadline 2024 event at the Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota featured Oba Femi being revealed as the mystery replacement for Thorpe in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match.

Oba Femi Wins 2024 Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match

Saturday’s NXT Deadline 2024 event also featured Oba Femi defeating Je’Von Evans, Wes Lee, Nathan Frazer, and All Ego” Ethan Page to become the winner of this year’s Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match.

Femi won the match after scoring 3 points, followed by Evans and Page with 2 points each and Lee and Frazer with 1 point each.

As a result of his victory, Femi earned a future shot at Trick Williams’ NXT Championship.

Giulia Wins 2024 Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match

Saturday’s NXT Deadline 2024 event also featured Giulia defeating Wren Sinclair, Sol Ruca, Zaria, and Stephanie Vaquer to become the winner of this year’s Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge match.

Giulia won the match after scoring 2 points, followed by Sinclair, Ruca, Zaria, and Vaquer at one point each.

As a result of her victory, Giulia earned a shot at Roxanne Perez’s NXT Women’s Championship at next month’s NXT New Year’s Evil 2025 event.

NXT Women’s Title Match Announced for NXT New Year’s Evil 2025

Saturday’s NXT Deadline 2024 event also featured the announcement of next year’s NXT New Year’s Evil event taking place on January 7, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

This announcement was made during a backstage interview segment involving NXT interviewer Sarah Schriber and NXT GM Ava.

Ava also announced that the winner of the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge match will be officially challenging Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship at this upcoming event.

This led to Tiffany Stratton making a surprise appearance and stated that she is from Minnesota and heard about Roxanne defending the title against the Iron Survivor winner. Stratton then stated that she has a Tiffany Epiphany and she might be in the title match.

Perez’s opponent for her NXT Women’s title was later revealed to be Giulia following Giulia emerging victorious in the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge match.
