WWE Reportedly Not Planning to Bring Over Much of WWE Network’s Archival Content on Netflix
As noted before, WWE’s RAW television series will be officially premiering on Netflix on January 6, 2025 as part of WWE’s new media rights deal with the streaming service. As part of WWE’s new deal, the WWE RAW archive will be leaving Peacock and the international version of the WWE Network will be shutting down after the end of this year.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that very little of WWE’s archive content on their WWE Network is expected to be moving over to Netflix. Meltzer reported that all of WWE’s current television shows and pay-per-view events will be going on Netflix. Meltzer also reported that around 40 past WWE PPV events will be the only thing available from the WWE Network on Netflix for archival non-TV shows content on January 1, 2025. In regards to this content, Meltzer reported that this past content will be a mix of some recent events and some events from years ago.
In regards to past WWE television shows, Meltzer reported that some old episodes of RAW, SmackDown, and NXT will also be available on Netflix.
In regards to non-WWE archival content, Meltzer reported that nothing from WCW, Mid-Atlantic, Mid-South Wrestling, World Class Championship Wrestling, nor other aspects of their tape library will be moving over to Netflix. Meltzer reported that the reason for this decision was due to the low viewership issues for non-WWE stuff on the WWE Network.
