Matt Hardy Comments on The Hardys Decision to Sign New Contracts with TNA

As noted before, The Hardys’ Matt & Jeff Hardy recently signed new contracts with TNA Wrestling to remain in the company for at least another year.

A recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast featured co-host Matt Hardy give his thoughts about The Hardys’ decision to sign a new contract with TNA to remain in the company.

“I’ve been enlightened with some of the plans that TNA has for 2025 and they are hoping to move to a bigger platform. They are still looking to grow and they have a lot of really cool stuff planned. I love some of the marketing strategies that they have and what not, we’ve had a great relationship working with them. We talked and we discussed this a couple times over the past couple of months about maybe doing a deal for x amount of dates. They’ve been there every step of the way, everything they’ve said that they were going to do for us, they’ve done, they’ve followed through and came through with it and vice versa, I think we’ve done that for them as well. So, the relationship has been great. We ended up signing with them for a year, we signed for a year. So, a year from now, we’re gonna be around in TNA. It’s also, we have a great working relationship if there’s anything we want to do on the outside. We just talk with them, get their blessing, we should be cool to do it. We’re still open and we’re going to still be doing stuff. It gives us some ideas about some cool stuff we can do to kind of evolve the characters and continue to start to re-evolve both Matt and Jeff Hardy in this newest and latest run. I think having us signed and under contract to TNA is a great pitch if you are going to a TV station or if you’re going to a certain area or market and you’re looking to get more momentum behind you. Now, we are officially with TNA and we’re both very proud to officially be with TNA and we’re both very excited about the future. 2025 is gonna have a big year.”

TNA Wrestling recently announced three new matches for the card of this weeks Impact! show on AXS TV:

The first new match announced was a TNA X-Division Championship #1 Contender Five-way match of Trent Seven vs. JDC vs. KUSHIDA vs. Leon Slater vs. Ace Austin.

The second new match announced was a tag team match of The Good Hands (Jason Hotch & John Skyler) vs. Sami Callihan & PCO.

The third new match announced was a tag team match of The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) vs. mystery opponents.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that many of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s foreign talent contracts are currently set to expire at the end of January of 2025. Among the talents with expiring contracts reportedly included Jeff Cobb, which Meltzer speculated that it is possible he could end up leaving NJPW for either AEW or WWE in a now or never type situation to make big money for his career due to him being 42 years old.

NJPW and Stardom reportedly drew a paid attendance of 3,547 for their co-promoted Nov. 17th Historic X-Over II event in Osaka, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

NJPW reportedly drew a paid attendance of 573 for their Nov. 19th World Tag League 2024 event in Ashikaga, 565 for their Nov. 21st World Tag League 2024 event in Funabashi, 667 for their Nov. 22nd World Tag League 2024 event in Yokohama, 1,403 for their Nov. 23rd World Tag League 2024 event in Fujisawa, 1,437 for their Nov. 24th World Tag League 2024 event in Tokyo, 630 for their Nov. 26th World Tag League 2024 event in Fukushima, and 701 for their Nov. 27th World Tag League 2024 event in Miyagi, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

NJPW reportedly has sold around 1,076 for their December 15th Strong Style Evolved 2024 event at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California as of this past Thursday, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Game Changer Wrestling reportedly drew an attendance of 250 for their Nov. 24th Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XII event in Jersey City, New Jersey, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

GCW reportedly has sold around 681 tickets for their Jan. 19, 2025 The People vs. GCW event at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, New York as of this past Thursday, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

This past Friday’s Super Viernes event for CMLL featured Mistico defeating Hechicero in the Finals of the Leyenda Azul Tournament to become the winner of this year’s tournament.

House of Glory recently announced one new match for the card of their Watch The Throne event on January 17, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois:
