El Phantasmo Comments on His Return to NJPW Following Cancer Treatment

As noted before, El Phantasmo made his surprise return to New Japan Pro Wrestling at Sunday’s Road to the Tokyo Dome event in Tokyo, Japan. During his appearance, El Phantasmo announced that he was medically cleared to compete again. Prior to his return, El Phantasmo had been out of action since this past October due to him battling cancer.

Following his appearance, El Phantasmo gave his thoughts in a backstage press conference about his return to NJPW and his treatment for cancer.

“You know, it has been a long time since I’ve been in Korakuen Hall. As a matter of fact, the last time I was here was in the G1 against Takeshita, and it’s even hard to wrap my brain around how different life was back then. But right now, I am back. I am back in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Tomorrow, Korakuen Hall. I am back in the Tokyo Dome. I am back. There is no chance in hell I was gonna miss the Tokyo Dome …

As I sat at home in Canada, I didn’t for a second think that I was ever not gonna be back in New Japan. My fighting spirit is stronger than ever.”

Danhausen Comments on His ROH Return at ROH Final Battle 2024

As noted before, this past Friday’s Final Battle 2024 event at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, New York featured Danhausen making his surprise return to Ring of Honor.

Danhausen recently released a new vlog featuring footage from “Antarctica” and his thoughts about his preparations for his return to AEW and ROH.

“Hello yes, Danhausen here in the middle of Antarctica. That’s right, I have stumbled out into [hotel seen in the background], oh no, that’s a hotel. I am in the middle of Antarctica, I have walked out into the frozen desert, to become more powerful and to find my inner strengths, to defeat everyone. I’m in the middle of nowhere. In Antarctica, there is no thing. You can see the mountains back there maybe. There they are. Oh, crap, the hotel’s there. Anyway, this is great. I have seen no polar bears. Actually, I fought off seven. I fought seven polar bears, I swam across the river, the ocean, I rode a beluga whale, and now I have returned to defeat my enemies on land. I am basically Aquaman at this point, but frozen. So anyways, I am more powerful than ever now

Danhausen also gave his thoughts about his return to ROH at Final Battle 2024.

“Danhausen just made his AEW to a ravishing, rounding, and whatever other word means a lot, return of applause. So I am back. I decimated my foes, Mace and Mansoor. They’re models, so maybe they’ll give a cut of their modeling agency fees, and I’ll be good to go. So we’ll see in the coming weeks.”

Kevin Nash Torn Biceps Injury & Update

As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash recently suffered a herniated discs and torn biceps injuries this past November and underwent surgery for his torn biceps earlier this month.

A recent episode of the Kliq This podcast featured co-host Nash providing an update on his recovery from his torn biceps surgery.

“I’ve lost more weight, but it’s on purpose because I pretty much went carnivore. I’m just not eating carbs. I know that I’m gonna have a pretty, especially at 65, without being able to do any progressive resistance training, I’m going to lose a shit load of muscle over the next three months. But the beauty of training for 50-plus years is the muscle memory is there, and it’ll come right back. So I got out of the shower today, and I looked at myself, I said, ‘Woah, dude. You look 65.’ Usually I look pretty fucking…I mean, I look at myself, I’m like, ‘Fuck, you look….’ Today, I’m just like, man.

I’m doing the pulleys, I’m already doing some mobility. I’m supposed to have my sling on right now. It’s great I guess if you got a 14-inch fucking arm, but I still got Thanksgiving turkey for an arm, and you have a fucking thing wrapped around your neck, and the fucking weight of that arm is pulling into your neck, next thing you know, your right hand is going numb because [the pressure]. Fuck that. The thing is, they always say, ‘You need to keep your sling on so you don’t fuck up.’ Hey, I promise you, I’m not going to forget and get up in the morning and go, ‘You know what I need to do is go hit a bucket of balls.’ It’s like, fuck, I know. Sleep in a recliner. Tonight will be day 15.”

Nash also stated that he found his religion and had prayed before he had underwent surgery.

“This time, before I went in, I found God, man. I found my religion. I said the Lord’s Prayer, I said, I’m going in, and please don’t take me from Tamara, don’t put this on her lap. I went in, and I came out, and it was rough coming out, it was hard coming out of that anesthesia.”
