As noted before, Ricky Starks has been out of action for AEW since this past March due to a head-injury scare incident and AEW officials not currently having any plans for his return. Starks had been originally booked for several upcoming events for Game Changer Wrestling before being pulled due to issues revolving around recent controversial comments made by GCW talent EFFY directed towards AEW CEO Tony Khan, Khan’s father Shad, and AEW’s booking of the Hammerstein Ballroom this month.
Khan held a media scrum earlier today to promote this Saturday’s AEW Worlds End 2024 event in Orlando, Florida.
One of the topics discussed included Khan providing an update on Starks’ current status in AEW and the potential of him making a surprise return at the AEW Dynamite Fight for the Fallen 2025 show on January 1st, which will also be AEW’s premiere simulcast show on MAX.
“I think we’ll have to stay tuned to see who’s going to be a part of the Fight for the Fallen simulcast. It remains to be seen. We’ve got a great roster here, and we’ve got one of our best pay-per-view lineups for Worlds End this year. I think it’s a tremendous card. Then, As for who’s going to be at the ‘Mother of All Simulcasts,’ that remains to be seen. But thanks for asking.”
