More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for December 11th
The December 11th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a large increase in key demographic rankings and a slight increase in overall viewership. This week’s show was notable for being the Dynamite Winter Is Coming 2024 special.
AEW drew 594,000 viewers and a 0.17 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was #4 place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s increases this week was due to the small gains from their Over 50 demographic viewership, which its percentage was not given, younger male key demographic viewership, and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were up 2.4% and 23.7% respectively compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the declines from their younger female key demographic viewership and older male key demographic viewership groups, which were down 3.6% and 5.7% compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Atlanta Hawks vs. New York Knicks drew 1,467,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Colgate vs. Kentucky drew 462,000 viewers on ESPN2, the Women’s College basketball game of Iowa State vs. Iowa drew 445,000 viewers on FS1, the College Football Bowl Special drew 505,000 viewers on ESPN, the NHL game of New York Rangers vs. Buffalo Sabres drew 406,000 viewers on TNT, Survivor drew 4,888,000 viewers on CBS, The Challenge drew 445,000 viewers on MTV, Expedition Files drew 976,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, Sistas Series drew 746,000 viewers on BET, and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City drew 419,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 232,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 43,000 viewers (up 2.4%), Females 18-34 had 27,000 viewers (down 3.6%), Males 35-49 had 115,000 viewers (down 5.7%), and Females 35-49 had 47,000 viewers (up 23.7%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 68.1% in favor of males.
In an interesting note, Meltzer reported that AEW’s show managed to top WWE’s NXT show this week in terms of overall key demographic viewership at 232,000 for AEW compared to 228,000 for NXT.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 29.7% in overall viewership and down 41.1% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 57.6% compared to the same week last year.

More on AEW Rampage Viewership for December 6th
The December 6th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW gain a large increase in overall viewership and a slight increase in key demographic rankings. That week’s show was notable for Rampage returning back to its normal Friday night time slot following the prior week’s show being preempted to a Saturday timeslot of 6PM EST due to TNT’s commitments with the NHL and going head-to-head against WWE’s Survivor Series WarGames 2024 event.
AEW drew 177,000 viewers and a 0.04 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was #25 place.

In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the College football game of Army vs. Tulane drew 1,997,000 viewers on ABC, the College football game of UNLV vs. Boise State drew 3,005,000 viewers on FOX, the NBA game of Milwaukee Bucks vs. Boston Celtics drew 1,279,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Illinois vs. Northwestern drew 277,000 viewers on Big Ten Network, Scare Tactics drew 345,000 viewers on USA Network, 90 Day Fiance drew 345,000 viewers on TLC, and On Patrol Live drew 540,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 59,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 54.2% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 48.1% in overall viewership and down 61.9% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 79.1% compared to the same week last year.

The December 7th episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a very large increase in overall viewership and a small increase in key demographic ratings. That week’s show was notable for Collision going head-to-head against WWE’s NXT Deadline 2024 event that night.
AEW drew 278,000 viewers and a 0.07 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was #27 place.
Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for AEW’s increases that week was due to the very large increases from their Over 50 demographic viewership and overall key demographic viewership groups, which its percentages were not given. This reportedly offset the very stiff sports competition from College football and UFC and also WWE’s NXT PLE event that night.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the ending of the 2024 SEC Championship College football game of Georgia vs. Texas drew 15,393,000 viewers on ABC, the 2024 ACC Championship College football game of Clemson vs. SMU drew 5,891,000 viewers on ABC, the 2024 Big Ten Championship College football game of Penn St. vs. Oregon drew 10,497,000 viewers on NBC, the 2024 Sun Belt Championship College football game of Marshall vs. Louisiana drew 392,000 viewers on ESPN, the Women’s College basketball game of Tennessee vs. Iowa drew 560,000 viewers on FOX, the Women’s College basketball game of Louisville vs. UConn drew 466,000 viewers on FOX, the UFC 310 Prelims drew 588,000 viewers on ESPN, and On Patrol Live drew 480,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 93,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 62.4% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 38.9% in overall viewership and down 50% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 58.8% compared to the same week last year.
