Orange Cassidy Comments on “I Want AEW To Be A Place Where There’s Room For Passionate Fans And Casual Viewers”
A recent episode of Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge podcast featured Orange Cassidy as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cassidy’s thoughts about if he felt that an AEW fan was similar to a modern-day ECW fan and wanting there to be room for passionate fans and casual viewers in AEW.
“That’s interesting. I see that…I think what ECW has better than anybody was a passionate fan base. I think they had a dedicated, passionate fan base. I think they love their professional wrestling, and I think they wanted to see great professional wrestling. They wanted all types of it. We talk about the hardcore stuff, but really, Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho, all of these guys came through, some of the best wrestlers to ever do it. I used to love ECW opening up with a Triple Threat, it’d be like Super Crazy and Tajiri, they would do incredible things. Nowadays, everybody wrestles like RVD and Jerry Lynn. I feel that there is an AEW fan is a true, passionate professional wrestling fan, and I love them for it, but I also want there to be room, I want them to make room for the person who just wants to pop in and have a good time. I think it’s important, especially me, I try as best as I can to get some people back into professional wrestling or into professional wrestling, those casual fans as we like to say. I really want AEW to be a place where if you want to analyze every little thing and get down to the details, you can. But I also want you to be like, ‘Oh, AEW’s in town, I just want to go to the show;’ to do that too and have a good time.”

Ricochet Comments on Samantha Irvin Not Interested in Continuing Ring Announcer Career & Future of Wrestling Career Being Up to Her
As noted before, WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin departed from WWE this past October over issues related to the two sides not being able to come to terms for outside music projects and Irvin wanting to do more than just be a ring announcer in the company.
A recent episode of the Casual Conversations with The Classic podcast featured Irvin’s fiancé and former WWE and current AEW talent Ricochet as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Ricochet’s thoughts about Irvin not being interested in continuing her ring announcer career.
“Probably not, I would say no. I wouldn’t even want her to do that. I think she is so…she just doesn’t want to be a ring announcer at all. Any time of announcing, whether it’s boxing or UFC or NFL or basketball, she doesn’t want to announce the people’s names. She doesn’t want to do that specific act. She still would love to be a character. She still would love to be in a story, she would love to make the fans feel emotions and make them go through the roller coaster of emotions that she would like. But as simply just calling someone’s weight and town and telling them to come out, she doesn’t want to do that anymore.”
Ricochet also gave his thoughts about the future of Irvin’s career in wrestling being entirely up to her.
“Oh, I mean, that’s up to her. I don’t know if she even wants to be in wrestling right now because I think she doesn’t like the toxicity of it at the moment. She’s honestly just been loving not being a part of it. She loves being a wrestling fan now because people are like, ‘You can’t be saying that.’ She’s like, what are you talking about? I’m just a fan now. I can say whatever I want. She’s having the most fun she’s had in a long time.”
