Adam Copeland Comments on His Return from Injury & Potential Stories to Explore in AEW
As noted before, Adam Copeland made his surprise return from a fractured tibia injury at this past Saturday’s AEW Worlds End 2024 event.
Uproxx held a recent interview with Copeland. One of the topics discussed included Copeland’s thoughts about the potential stories he could explore for his return from injury to AEW.
“I think story and opponent, they go hand in hand. That for me is still the biggest thing. That’s the thing that I enjoy the most. That’s the thing I get off on is go, okay, let’s craft this story. How many months do we have? Let’s figure out some tent poles. How many other characters can we pull into it and moving parts, and then hopefully have a few different characters come out of it with intriguing stories going forward. That to me is always really fun, and without diluting it or making it confusing, getting as many different characters involved as you can.
There’s still some really fun stories to be explored that will probably eat up a year and a half, two years, and then I think it’s going to be time. But again, I can’t sit there and dwell on it. I have to focus on each time I’m in that ring and go, here I am. You’ve got to be in the present. Otherwise, bad things can happen, but also being in the present, I soak it all in, I enjoy it all instead of getting too far forward.”
Mercedes Mone Comments on Her 2025 New Year’s Resolution for Her Wrestling Career
The New York Post held a recent interview with current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone. One of the topics discussed included Mone’s thoughts about her New Year’s Resolution for 2025 for her wrestling career.
“This new year, I want to continue to expand awareness and opportunities for female wrestlers and female athletes in general, globally.”
Orange Cassidy Comments on AEW Locker Room Has A Healthy Competition
A recent episode of The Shaky Experience podcast featured Orange Cassidy as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cassidy’s thoughts about his belief that AEW’s locker room has a health level of competition and how AEW’s younger talent are attentive.
“Right now, the locker room, to me, we all want to do our very best. At AEW, we’re trying to cultivate an idea that we should help each other do our best. It is competitive, but I feel it’s a healthy competition. When I see Will Ospreay have a match with Ricochet, when I see my friend Mark Briscoe go wrestle Kyle Fletcher, and they do incredible things, it helps drive me to do my best as well. It shouldn’t be a, ‘I want to get to the top so I’m going to step on you to get there.’ It should be, ‘I want to go to the top, but we should all help each other climb the ladder to get to the top.’ It can be daunting sometimes. You can see a match between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay or Ospreay and (Konosuke) Takeshita, and they are doing superhuman things. They can do things no one else can do. That’s what makes AEW so special. Everybody brings something unique to them. I try to accentuate that aspect. What separates me from them is the healthy competition of, I want to have the best performance of the night or best match. I feel it’s a positive place right now. We have a ton of young talent, too, that are very fortunate in AEW. It’s the environment we’re trying to make backstage, but the younger roster members are so attentive and they try their best. They take feedback and they want to do their best. What is that thing, pay it forward? That’s what we’re trying to do.”
