Chelsea Green Advances in WWE Women’s US Title Tournament

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah featured one First Round match for the WWE Women’s United States Championship tournament to crown its inaugural champion.

This was a Triple Threat match of Chelsea Green defeated Blair Davenport and Bianca Belair.

As a result of her victory, Green will be facing off against Bayley in the Semifinal Round of WWE’s Women’s United States Championship tournament.

Jade Cargill Gets Attacked by Mystery Attacker on Friday’s SmackDown Show

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured Jade Cargill being attacked and getting sent to the hospital by a mysterious attacker.

During the WWE Women’s United States Championship Tournament First Round match between Bianca Belair, Chelsea Green, and Blair Davenport, the big screen aired a video showing Cargill laying motionless on top of a broken windshield on a car after an unseen attack in the parking lot. This led to Belair leaving the ring and rushing to the back opening the door for Green to pick up the victory to advance.

In a follow-up segment, an emotional Belair was seen running towards an ambulance in the parking lot and asked SmackDown GM Nick Aldis if he knew anything about what happened to Cargill. Bayley and Naomi tried to check on Cargill only to be told off by an angry Belair and told Aldis that she would take care of Cargill since she is her tag partner. Belair then went into the ambulance which drove away afterwards.

Cody Rhodes Challenges Kevin Owens to Future Match for Undisputed WWE Title

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes issuing a challenge to Kevin Owens for a future match between the two for his title.

During the show, Rhodes came out to the ring and grabbed a microphone and stated that Randy Orton is not here and he was told Owens was not here tonight but he does not believe that. Rhodes then called for Owens to come down to the ring right now and to not keep him waiting. This led to Owens’ voice being heard and him coming out through the crowd. After some insults directed at Rhodes, Owens stated that Cody doesn’t get what he wants just because he wants it. Rhodes attempted to leave the ring only for security to stop him and stood in between Rhodes and Owens. Owens then talked about blaming Cody for what he did and stated that he did it because for four years, he fought the Bloodline every week and they tried to end his career and Roman Reigns tried to end his career and he could never and never will. Owens then talked about Rhodes coming back to WWE and how they fought together and being in the ring at WrestleMania 40 after Rhodes won the title being happy for him because Cody finished his story. Owens then angrily talked about how after that, Reigns came back and Cody teamed up with him and blames Cody for all of that.

Rhodes responded stating that him teaming with Reigns has nothing to do with Owens. After some more words about Rhodes claiming Owens always needs someone to blame, Rhodes stated Owens is obsessed with being the face of WWE and he does not realize that while he is obsessing with that, he has been synonymous with WWE for a decade. After some more angry yelling directed at Owens talking about the last time they wrestled one another and Owens being unable to pull the trigger to become the new champion, Rhodes stated that Owens blames him for that. Rhodes stated that Owens finally did pull the trigger but just on the wrong guy, Randy Orton. After some more heated words by Rhodes talking about Orton did not deserve what happened to him since he was a friend of Kevin and Owens bringing back a banned move, Rhodes issued a challenge to Owens for a match for tonight or at Survivor Series or at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Rhodes stated that it is coming and the ball is in Kevin’s court.

Owens’ responded accepting the challenge and stated that it will happen on his terms. After some more words, Owens stated that he loved Orton but he hates Cody. This led to Rhodes responding back stating that Owens doesn’t think he hates him, he hates himself. Rhodes then stated that when Owens decides to have the match, there is not a single line he won’t cross.

Paul Heyman & CM Punk Make Surprise Returns on Friday’s SmackDown Show

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured Paul Heyman and CM Punk making their surprise returns.

During the show, The Bloodline came out to the ring leading to the OG Bloodline following right afterwards. Solo Sikoa grabbed a microphone and told Roman Reigns and the rest of the OG Bloodline that he is not here to fight and he still loves all four of them and always has and never stopped loving them. Sikoa then told Reigns that he wants them to understand something, which he revealed was an offer for them to join his Bloodline so they can run the company for decades. Sikoa then talked about how the OG Bloodline doesn’t have a fifth man nor a wise man and they don’t have a choice. Sikoa then demanded for them to surrender and join him or all four of them will die where they stand. Sikoa then handed the microphone to Reigns for his answer.

This led to Heyman’s voice being heard and made his surprise return coming out to the stage. After some introductory words, Heyman talked about Sikoa’s math being off and how there is no way to do WarGames four against five. After some words, Heyman stated its not going to be four versus five, its going to be five versus five. Heyman then pointed to the stage leading to CM Punk’s music playing.

This led to Punk making his surprise return and headed down to the ring resulting in a brawl breaking out between the two groups that ended with the OG Bloodline & Punk clearing the ring of Sikoa & The Bloodline. Punk and Reigns then looked at each other as the show went to a close.

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured two new matches announced for the card of next week’s show on November 29th.

That week’s show will be taped on Friday, November 22nd in Salt Lake City, Utah.
