Kurt Angle Comment son Baron Corbin’s WWE Release & WWE Dropping the Ball with Corbin After His Retirement Match, Corbin Responds
WrestleZone held a recent interview with WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. One of the topics discussed included Angle’s thoughts about Baron Corbin’s release from WWE earlier this month and his belief that WWE dropped the ball on Corbin following his retirement match.
“Baron, I think he’s underrated. I think it kinda sucks — they started utilizing him the way they should have, they had him beat me, which I was okay with, it was my last match and obviously you’re gonna lose your last match when you retire. Baron, after that, he ended up winning King Of The Ring and then nothing else happened with him. It’s a little disappointing to know that he beat a legend at WrestleMania in the legend’s last match and they didn’t really do much with him after that. For me, it makes me feel like I did that for nothing.”
Following the release of the interview, Corbin responded to Angle’s comments on Twitter stating:
“To be fair, that’s one of the reasons I wish I had become world champ! It would paid honor to what Kurt did for me. I will forever appreciate it and wish I could have done more to make it worth it for him.”

It’s up in the air, so you’ll have to tune in and watch and see what happens.” Strattong also gave her thoughts about the potential of her cashing in at WWE’s RAW premiere show on Netflix. Stratton stated “I don’t know. Maybe I’ll cash in there. Maybe I won’t even have a match. Maybe I’ll just cash in and become champion on the premiere. You’ll have to wait and see.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gave his thoughts about his return to WWE earlier this year and competing at WrestleMania XL. Johnson stated “I had such a great time. Cody and Seth and Roman, it was just wild. I grew up in that world of pro wrestling. There’s nothing like when that music hits and the crowd goes crazy. [Fallon said it feels like The Rock is home when he’s performing]. That’s a good way to put it. I grew up in the world of pro wrestling, and I followed the careers of my grandfather and my dad. My grandfather and my dad used to wrestle up here at [Madison Square Garden] in the ‘70s, and here I come along, not trying to screw anything up with their legacy. Then all of a sudden, the business has grown into what it’s grown into. TKO now owns WWE, and I have the honor of sitting on the board of TKO. What a full-circle moment. It’s crazy. I started with seven bucks, and now… [Fallon said it’s not], now it’s not seven bucks [laughs].” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
