Roman Reigns on Visualizing Future of The Bloodline Storyline, Not Caring Who He Faced at WrestleMania 40, Appearance Status for WWE’s RAW Premiere Show on Netflix, Career Future

A recent episode of the SI Media with Jimmy Traina podcast featured Roman Reigns as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Reigns’ thoughts about the future of the lengthy The Bloodline storyline in WWE.

“People laughed at us a while back, it may have been me or Paul, but the whole baseball innings thing. It was maybe a year or so ago I thought, ‘We’re stretching it,’ but we’re not at this point. It’s a whole new vision. I forget where I was driving today, but visualizing what it could be in the next two years, what could be in the next three years. Blocking these things off just a year chunk at a time. Honestly, it wouldn’t be possible if we weren’t where we are now, the creative freedom, the collaboration we have, our leadership being Triple H, Nick Khan, the way he runs it on the business side. Also, having that trust, not only Triple H, but the rest of us, it just trickles down. To be able to have that trust in us to perform and go out there and do it like we do it.”

Reigns also gave his thoughts about him not caring if he had faced Cody Rhodes or Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40 since he would be in the main event no matter what.

“It didn’t matter to me. I was the main event no matter what. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with. I’m the hot chick. Everybody wanted to take me out. It was one of those things where, we just need to get there and defend this thing. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re trying to stop history from happening. They’re trying to take this off of the pinnacle right now. It was the same task at hand for me.”

Reigns also gave his thoughts about WWE’s upcoming RAW premiere show on Netflix and confirmed that he will be at the show but his schedule afterwards is not currently set.

“I’m not exactly sure. I’m just trying to get to the premiere. I’m on the premiere. I don’t think I can share too much more than that at this point. We haven’t scheduled my exact dates for going into WrestleMania from Rumble forward, but that is definitely a topic that has to be addressed. It’s an understandable one for the impact, the amount of money that is part of this deal. I completely understand. These are all great problems to have. Nobody loves being in the tug of war more than me. It usually works out pretty good.”

Reigns also gave his thoughts about the future of his wrestling career and potential retirement plans.

“It depends on what day you ask me and how I’m feeling that day. Sometimes, the body feels like a trainwreck and I can vividly picture Sheamus hitting me with a chair somewhere in Europe. I’ve done that dance with a lot of the guys, all over the world, year over year. Sometimes, no matter what you do, you just wake up and you’re sore and your body hurts. Sometimes, on those days, I’ll tell you, ‘What’s going on here? Everything is good. Maybe we could stop.’ Then, there is so much meat left on the bone. There is so much to the performances that I’m learning, not only about myself, but the performance in general. How to manipulate them, how to get better at them, how to control the crowd better. All these different things. So many different stories to tell. New family members coming in. It’s one of those deals where, kind of like athletes, as long as you can continue to practice, as long as you feel good enough to practice, then I can play. As long as I feel good enough to continue to train and make myself physically in shape to go out there and fall down. That’s the thing, just falling down. If we can figure out how to not fall down and take bumps, bring in the double, cut. Just run Hollywood, I guess. There is just something about being out there in the middle of a storm, that simultaneous live reaction. Making movies is very cool, but there is something about having that crowd in the palm of your hand. You can’t emulate that or duplicate it. It’s WWE and that’s it.”
