Update on AEW Dynamite Viewership for October 30th
As noted before, the October 30th AEW Fright Night Dynamite show drew 628,000 viewers and a 0.19 rating on TBS.
This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter featured additional details that were not available in last week’s issue due to ratings numbers report delay issues from Nielsen.
In terms of key demographic viewership breakdowns, AEW’s 18-34 had 44,000 viewers (down 20%), Females 18-34 had 46,000 viewers (up 130%), Males 35-49 had 118,000 viewers (down 10.8%), and Females 35-49 had 48,000 viewers (down 4%).
AEW Dynamite quarter hour viewership breakdowns were:
- 1Q – 708,000 overall viewers and 269,000 key demo viewers (Orange Cassidy promo segment, the Mercedes Mone & Kamille backstage interview segment, and the start of the Adam Cole vs. Buddy Matthews match)
- 2Q – 647,000 overall viewers and 253,000 key demo viewers (Bulk of the Cole vs. Matthews match & post-match angle with Malakai Black and the Christopher Daniels & Private Party backstage interview segment)
- 3Q – 651,000 overall viewers and 253,000 key demo viewers (Adam Cole & Undisputed Kingdom backstage promo segment, the Don Callis, Kyle Fletcher, & Mark Davis promo segment, and the Hangman Adam Page backstage interview segment)

More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for November 6th
The November 6th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW suffer a very large decline in overall viewership, a large decline in key demographic rankings, and a small decline in key demographic ratings. This week’s show was notable for going head-to-head with WWE’s NXT show that night.
AEW drew 523,000 viewers and a 0.16 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was outside of the top 25.
Dave Meltzer reported that the main reasons for AEW’s declines this week was due to a combination of their show going head-to-head against WWE’s NXT show that night and the stiff sports competition and news coverage of the 2024 Presidential Election. Another reason reportedly was due to the decline from their overall key demographic viewership group, which was down 16% compared to last week’s show, of which their younger key demographic viewership group was down 21.1% compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported that there was very little viewers who crossed over after WWE’s NXT show for AEW’s show due to how little of a bump AEW received for their overrun, which was only up 5,000 in overall viewers but lost 5,000 viewers in key demographic viewers compared to their eighth quarter. Meltzer also reported that AEW’s overall viewership was the second lowest ever for a show in its regular Wednesday night time slot.
In terms of head-to-head competition, AEW Dynamite drew 523,000 viewers on TBS, the NBA game of Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics drew 2,140,000 viewers on ESPN, the NHL game of Detroit Red Wings vs. Chicago Blackhawks drew 327,000 viewers on TNT, the College football game of Northern Illinois vs. Western Michigan drew 442,000 viewers on ESPN2, Survivor drew 4,664,000 viewers on CBS, The Challenge drew 424,000 viewers on MTV, Expedition Unknown drew 816,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, Sistas Series drew 708,000 viewers on BET, and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City drew 354,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 216,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s Males 18-49 had 156,000 viewers and Females 18-49 had 59,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership skew was 72.6% in favor of males.
In an interesting note, Meltzer reported that AEW topped NXT in two out of the eight quarters for key demographic viewership and only one quarter for overall viewership. In regards to overall viewership, this sole quarter was the first quarter hour.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 35% in overall viewership and down 39.1% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 49.3% compared to the same week last year. Meltzer reported that the reason for the very large declines was due to last year’s show did not have competition from WWE.

More on AEW Rampage Viewership for November 1st
The November 1st episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW suffer a large decline in overall viewership and a small decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 174,000 viewers and a 0.05 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was outside of the top 25.
Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for AEW’s declines that week was due the large declines from their overall key demographic viewership group, which was down 53.7% overall and down 63.3% in 18-34. Meltzer reported that AEW’s viewership was the lowest ever for a Rampage show in Rampage series history. Meltzer reported that the main reason why that week’s show hit a record low is currently not known since it was a weaker night than usual in terms of competition and the only other possible explanation would be the series being in a lame duck period.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves drew 1,396,000 viewers on ESPN, the College football game of San Diego State vs. Boise State drew 656,000 viewers on FS1, the College football game of South Florida vs. Florida Atlantic drew 562,000 viewers on ESPN2, Scare Tactics drew 439,000 viewers on USA Network, 90 Day Fiance drew 286,000 viewers on TLC, and On Patrol Live drew 595,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 68,000 viewers. AEW’s 18-34 had 13,000 viewers (down 35%), Females 18-34 had 5,000 viewers (up 150%), Males 35-49 had 38,000 viewers (down 24%), and Females 35-49 had 12,000 viewers (down 70.7%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 75% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 32% in overall viewership and down 30.8% in key demographic viewership.
AEW Rampage quarter hour viewership breakdowns were:
- 1Q – 200,000 overall viewers and 74,000 key demo viewers (La Faccion Ingobernable vs. The Butcher, JD Drake, & BEEF Trios match, the Stokely Hathaway backstage interview segment, and the Taya Valkyrie vs. Zoey Lynn match)
- 2Q – 160,000 overall viewers and 63,000 key demo viewers (Deonna Purrazo, Taya Valkyrie, & Stokely Hathaway backstage segment & Valkyrie’s attack on Lynn, the Thunder Rosa vs. Harley Cameron match hype video segment, and the Queen Aminata vs. Leila Grey match)
- 3Q – 165,000 overall viewers and 68,000 key demo viewers (Top Flight & Action Andretti vs. Dark Order Trios match)

More on AEW Collision Viewership for November 2nd
The November 2nd episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a small increase in overall viewership. That week’s show was notable for taking place on the same day as WWE’s Crown Jewel 2024 event but did not go head-to-head against it.
AEW drew 349,000 viewers and a 0.09 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was #22 place.
Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for AEW’s increases that week was due to the increases from the older key demographic viewership and Over 50 demographic viewership groups, which its percentages were not given. This reportedly offset the decline from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was down 11.4% compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the College football game of Texas A&M vs. South Carolina drew 5,561,000 viewers on ABC, the College football game of Wisconsin vs. Iowa drew 2,734,000 viewers on FOX, the College football game of Louisville vs. Clemson drew 1,433,000 viewers on ESPN, the College football game of UCLA vs. Nebraska drew 882,000 viewers on Big Ten Network, the College football game of TCU vs. Baylor drew 483,000 viewers on ESPN, the College football game of Minnesota vs. Illinois drew 551,000 viewers on FS1, and On Patrol Live drew 537,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 119,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 20,000 viewers (up 17.6%), Females 18-34 had 11,000 viewers (down 38.9%), Males 35-49 had 66,000 viewers (up 6.5%), and Females 35-49 had 22,000 viewers (up 29.4%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 72.3% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 4.6% in overall viewership but up 2.6% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 11.4% compared to the same week last year.
