Updated AEW Continental Classic 2024 Standings & Results
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois featured the official start of this year’s AEW Continental Classic 2024 tournament. The show also featured three group stage matches this year’s tournament, two for the Gold League and one for the Blue League.
In regards to the Blue League, this match was Shelton Benjamin defeating Mark Briscoe.

In regards to the Gold League, the first match was Claudio Castagnoli defeating Ricochet.

Kamille Splits from Mercedes Mone on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Show
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Kamille splitting and ending her partnership with Mercedes Mone.
This breakup was setup over recent weeks shows over Mone growing more and more frustrated and angry over Kamille not being able to handle their issues with Kris Statlander leading up to Full Gear 2024.
During the show, Tony Schiavone was seen on the stage and welcomed Mone, who came out with Kamille alongside her. Schiavone talked about Mone’s match against Statlander for the TBS Championship at Full Gear 2024 and all the praise it has received. Mone responded with a happy reaction and talked about about Statlander gave her the hardest match of her career but she is the greatest TBS Champion of all time and she will prove it further.
Mone then turned her attention towards Kamille and berated her for not doing anything right but before she could say that she was fired, Kamille interrupted and told Mone that she can’t fire her since she quits. Kamille proceeded to leave to the back and Mone being furious over what Kamille just did.

Jamie Hayter Advances in International Women’s Cup AEW Qualifier Tournament
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured one Semifinal Round match for AEW’s Qualifier tournament for the International Women’s Cup match at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
This match was defeating Jamie Hayter defeated Queen Aminata.

As a result of her victory, Hayter will be facing off against the winner of Serena Deeb/Willow Nightingale in the Finals at AEW’s Dynamite Winter Is Coming 2024 show on December 11th in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mina Shirakawa vs. “The Glamour” Mariah May Announced for AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming 2024
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured one new match announced for the card of AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming 2024 show, which takes place on December 11th at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
This new match announced was an AEW Women’s World Championship of Mina Shirakawa vs. “The Glamour” Mariah May (c).
This match was initially setup following May’s betrayal of her friendship with Shirakawa at Full Gear 2024. During tonight’s show, Renee Paquette interviewed Shirakawa who talked about May’s betrayal and her showing who the real May was as someone who would throw away friendships just to keep her grip on the AEW Women’s World title. This led to May showing up and smashed a champagne bottle over the back of Shirakawa’s head. May then stated that she wants Shirakawa.
Afterwards, it was announced that May will be defending her title against Shirakawa at Winter Is Coming 2024.
