AEW: Bobby Lashley on His Decision for AEW Signing, Tony Khan on AEW’s Upcoming MAX Debut, AEW Reportedly to Run Shows at Smaller Venues in 2025

Bobby Lashley Comments on His Decision for Signing with AEW

A recent episode of the Lame Guys podcast featured Bobby Lashley as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Lashley’s thoughts about his decision to sign with AEW.

“Part of it is because Tony did tell me that I had opportunities to do other things. If I do want to tackle that fight and do another fight, whether it’s boxing, bareknuckle, MMA, he’ll give me the opportunity to. Then, all my other projects that I’ve been working on. That was part of it, the opportunity to do other things.

Then, I looked at it, and I was like, man, we talked about Hurt Business and what we could have done with it, the Hurt Syndicate now. I was like, ‘If I’m going to go out, there are certain ways I want to go out.’ I didn’t get an opportunity to go out the way that I wanted to putting guys over having a feud with those guys. Another avenue I could be happy with is to be able to work with P and Shelton again, being able to run with that and have fun with it. Ultimately, we are a group that is good for the company. We have the ability to be able to build talent. If you go into a feud with us or you’re on the mic against P, you have Shelton, me, whoever else we bring on. You have a lot of obstacles. You don’t have to take out all of us because it’s a lot to take out but you can go in there and battle and box with us, it will raise your value and put you at a different level. Ultimately, the numbers might get you, but if you are that guy, you can possibly beat us all.

I want to have some fun for the last few years and help some guys and elevate some guys.”

Tony Khan Comments on AEW’s Upcoming Debut on MAX in 2025

A recent episode of Q101’s Brian & Kenzie show featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about AEW’s upcoming debut on Warner Bros Discovery’s MAX service in 2025.

“It was great to be able to into November with Full Gear, this event that fans love every year, get fans excited, play the November Rain video and get people back into that groove. So for us, I do think it’s important to look at how the universe changes. Things will change again next year because a lot of the audience will be exposed to AEW for the first time, there’s people that don’t have cable or satellite anymore, and they mostly have cut the cord, and they stream, and having AEW live on Max, it’s gonna open so many new fans up to the experience for the first time ever. We’ll be available in almost twice as many homes as we are now starting in January. It’s pretty amazing. It’s gonna be a really exciting time. I hope we can make some new wrestling fans and new AEW fans when AEW goes to Max.”

AEW Reportedly Expected to Run Shows in Smaller Venues in 2025

Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live that his sources stated that AEW officials currently have plans to run their shows in smaller buildings in 2025.

Alvarez reported that those spoken to stated that the reason why AEW has been running a lot of their shows in larger venues was due to logistical issues involving their current stage set. Alvarez reported that there was something AEW had in their lighting rig in particular that made it too large and heavy to use for smaller venues.

AEW reportedly has been working on retooling their stage set so that they can be able to run shows in smaller venues. Alvarez reported that these changes are part of new larges changes currently being discussed and planned within AEW for the production of their shows starting in 2025.
