WWE Airs Mystery “Coming Soon” Teaser Video

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Nashville, Tennessee featured WWE airing a video teasing a mysterious “coming soon” announcement.

Carmelo Hayes Wins Shot for US Title on Friday’s SmackDown Show

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured Carmelo Hayes earning a title shot at LA Knight’s United States Championship.

This match was setup following a in-ring promo segment involving AJ Styles, Carmelo Hayes, and LA Knight. Following Styles talking about his return to SmackDown, Hayes came out to interrupt and proceeded to deliver several insults towards Styles and talking about his quest to become the next United States Champion. This led to Styles challenging Hayes to a match on tonight’s show, which Hayes hesitated in accepting.

This led to Knight’s music playing to interrupt and after some insults directed towards Hayes, Knight stated that he would be willing to offer Hayes a shot at his title if he manages to beat Styles and would get SmackDown GM Nick Aldis to make it official. After some more insults directed towards Hayes by Knight, a referee ran out to make the match official.

In a follow-up, Hayes defeated Styles after the referee called for the bell due to Styles suffering a leg injury. This led to a frustrated Styles walking to the back and Hayes’ victory celebration being cut short after Knight left the commentary table to hit a BFT to Hayes in the ring.

In a follow-up segment, Hayes talked to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis backstage stating that he wants his title match against Knight to take place at Bad Blood only for Aldis to reject it and took issue with how he had won. Aldis stated that he will talk to Styles and Hayes next week.

AJ Styles Suffered “Ankle Injury” on Friday’s SmackDown Show

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured AJ Styles suffering an ankle injury.

Styles suffered the injury during his match against Carmelo Hayes on the show following Styles landing awkwardly on his feet after a high flying spot. While the match continued on for some time afterwards, the referee eventually called for the bell leading to a WWE ringside doctor checking on Styles. Styles was able to leave the ring on his own and headed to the back.

In a follow up segment, Styles was seen in the doctor’s office getting his ankles checked on. SmackDown announcer Corey Graves stated that this was video that was short earlier and Styles had left to a local medical facility for treatment for what is believed to be an ankle injury.

It is currently not known if Styles’ injury is legitimate or just for storyline purposes.

Naomi Announced to Co-Host WWE Bad Blood 2024 with Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured the announcement of Naomi being one of the co-hosts of WWE’s Bad Blood 2024 event, which takes place on October 5th at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

This was setup following a backstage promo segment involving Naomi, Bianca Belair, and Jade Cargill. During the show, Naomi was seen walking backstage and was stopped by Belair and Cargill. Belair and Cargill talked about them being the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions leading to Belair telling Naomi that they had talked to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis who stated that all three of them can host Bad Blood 2024. This led to Naomi reacting very happy and cheerfully over the news.
