Kevin Owens Expiring WWE Contract Status Update – Owens Reportedly Believed to Have Signed New Contract

As noted before, Kevin Owens contract with WWE is currently set to expire in early 2025.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that multiple people in wrestling spoken to dating back to this past August’s Bash In Berlin event stated that they believe that Owens had signed a new deal with WWE but it is being kept quiet. Meltzer reported that this is something he has yet to confirm from his sources.

Those close to the situation reportedly have not said anything about any of the different versions of the story going around regarding Owens’ contract status and future in WWE and whatever the actual story is, Owens wants to keep it secretive for now.


Shotzi Torn ACL Injury Status Update

As noted before, Shotzi has been out of action for WWE since this past February due to a torn ACL injury.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that Shotzi is currently expected to still be several months away from a potential in-ring return from her injury.

Sapp reported that while Shotzi had torn her ACL eight months ago, a typical torn ACL injury and recovery usually means someone being out for a full year.


Update on SmackDown Expected to Become Three Hour Weekly Show in 2025

As noted before, WWE’s SmackDown show is currently expected to expand into becoming a three-hour weekly show on USA Network starting in January of 2025.

WrestleVotes Radio reported that their sources stated that WWE officials currently have scheduled for SmackDown to move to being a three-hour weekly show starting on January 3, 2025. It was reported that SmackDown is currently planned to remain as a three-hour show until the end of May of 2025.

In regards to the status of WWE RAW’s runtime format, it was reported that RAW is still currently expected to return back to a three-hour format with its move to Netflix in January of 2025.
