Hornswoggle Signed WWE Legends Contract

Former WWE wrestler Hornswoggle, real name Dylan Postl, recently signed a Legends contract with WWE.

The announcement was made by Postl during his appearance at an event for ACW Wisconsin on Friday in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Postl stated that he had signed an official Legends deal with WWE last week.

More on NXT Oct. 8, 2024 Viewership

The October 8th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT suffer a small decline in overall viewership and a slight decline in key demographic ratings. This week’s show was notable for going partially head-to-head with AEW’s Dynamite Title Tuesday 2024 show.

NXT drew 874,000 viewers and a 0.24 key demographic rating on The CW.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for NXT’s declines this week was due to the stiff sports competition from the 2024 MLB Playoffs and the large decline in their older key demographic viewership group, which its percentage was not given. This reportedly offset the small increase from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was up 6.7% compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported that AEW’s Dynamite show that night had no real effect on NXT’s show in terms of taking away viewers and instead AEW was hurt way more resulting in their show drawing the lost ever overall viewership and key demographic ratings in Dynamite series history. Meltzer also reported that NXT’s key demographic rating was the second highest for a show on The CW so far this year, only behind their premiere show last week.

In terms of head-to-head competition, the 2024 MLB Playoffs Game 3 of Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres drew 4,647,000 viewers on FS1, the 2024 WNBA Playoffs Game 5 of Connecticut Sun vs. Minnesota Lynx drew 984,000 viewers on ESPN2, the NHL Season Opening Night game of Boston Bruins vs. Florida Panthers drew 790,000 viewers on ESPN, AEW Dynamite drew 329,000 viewers on TBS, Deadliest Catch drew 868,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta drew 407,000 viewers on MTV, Chopped drew 311,000 viewers on Food Network, Real Housewives of NYC drew 350,000 viewers on BRAVO, and 1000-LB Sisters drew 649,000 viewers on TLC.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 318,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that NXT’s male/female viewership skew was 58.3% in favor of males.

In terms of peak viewership, NXT’s peak overall viewership was at 918,000 viewers for the first quarter featuring the Trick Williams, Wes Lee, & Jey Uso promo segment. NXT’s peak key demographic viewership was 351,000 viewers for the quarter hour featuring the Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade promo segment & brawl with Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer. Meltzer reported that NXT’s eighth quarter drew 838,000 overall viewers and 293,000 key demo viewers for the Je’Von Evans vs. Randy Orton main event match.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was down 5.1% in overall viewership and down 19.7% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that NXT’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 27.3% compared to the same week last year.

Kurt Angle Comments on There Is Not Much Difference Between Vince McMahon & Mr. McMahon

WFAN’s Danielle McCartain held a recent interview with WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. One of the topics discussed included Angle’s thoughts about his belief that there is no that much of a difference between real-life Vince McMahon and the “Mr. McMahon” character.

“There’s not much of a difference. Vince is Vince. He’s always showed his true colors, all the time. I took a quick liking to Vince. I liked him, and he became somewhat of a father figure for me. The thing is, what blows my mind, I always spent so much time with him, but I never saw him do any of the things he’s accused of. I spent a lot of time with him. I was on his private jet with him. I was in the meetings with him. We were working together all day long and we would stay at the same hotel. I spent a super amount of time with Vince and I never saw him do anything like that. For me, I was just as surprised as any other fan.

He was on his phone quite a bit. I know he sent a lot of text messages and stuff. I understand that and understand why I missed that. I know a lot of communication with people was by text. He was always on his phone. I didn’t know what it was for.”
