As noted before, WWE’s Bad Blood 2024 event earlier this month in Atlanta, Georgia featured Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson making his surprise return to WWE. The Rock recently denied reports and rumors of him not currently being scheduled to work at next year’s WrestleMania 41 event due to his acting career work schedule issues.
Fightful Select reported that their sources within WWE stated that WWE is currently a priority for The Rock and the current expectation is that he will be “in the fold here and there in sporadic fashion.”
Several high level WWE officials spoken to reportedly stated that The Rock had made it clear that he was “part of the family” and will make appearances for the company when he is able.
Those spoken to within the Intuit Dome reportedly stated that they were hopeful that The Rock would be present for WWE’s RAW premiere show on Netflix at their venue. Those spoken to reportedly stated that there has been internal buzz for it despite it not being officially confirmed.
In regards to the recent rumors of The Rock will not be working at WrestleMania 41, it was reported that none of those spoken to within WWE knew where that rumor had come from and they had not heard whether he would be appearing one way or another for the event. One source spoken to reportedly stated that it is hard to predict what The Rock will do six months out because he is going to do pretty much what he wants from a career and appearance perspective.
In regards to The Rock’s surprise return at WWE’s Bad Blood 2024 event, it was reported that The Rock’s return was something that did not have a lot of heavy planning but the possibility of him making an appearance became a reality in the weeks leading up to the event. This reportedly led to WWE officials changing their original plans for the main event match to be the tag team match between Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes vs. The Bloodline. WWE officials reportedly received solid conformation days before the show that The Rock would make an appearance.
