Sammy Guevara & Indie Wrestler Kelly Madan Suffered Head Injuries at 10/2 ROH TV Tapings in Pittsburgh

Sammy Guevara and indie wrestler Kelly Madan reportedly suffered head injuries at Ring of Honor’s ROH TV tapings on Wednesday at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, according to PWInsider.

This taping was held prior to AEW’s Dynamite 5 Year Anniversary Show that night at the same venue.

In regards to Guevara, Mike Johnson reported that several fans who attended the tapings stated that Guevara was knocked out during his match against Serpentico.

Guevara reportedly suffered the injury following a spot where Serpentico performed a high flying move off the top rope that was meant to be countered by a cutter by Guevara. The timing of this spot reportedly was a “little off” resulting in Serpentico landing on Guevara’s face and Guevara being knocked out unconscious. Referee Bryce Remsberg was stated to have immediately stopped the match and Guevara was given immediate medical attention by AEW’s medical staff. One person at the tapings reportedly stated that it appeared that they were enacting a concussion protocol for Guevara.

Johnson reported that Guevara was eventually stretchered from the ring.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that AEW/ROH officials believed that Guevara might have suffered a concussion injury but this was something that has not been confirmed yet.

In regards to Madan, Johnson reported in a separate report that those in attendance stated that Madan was knocked out during her match against Lady Frost at the tapings.

Madan reportedly suffered the injury following a spot involving Frost hitting a spinning attack to Madan but Frost’s legs accidentally landed on Madan’s head or neck. The referee reportedly made the three count to end the match and Madan was described to be “obviously being out” and didn’t move. AEW medical staff reportedly gave Madan medical attention with the referee and Frost also surrounding her.

Johnson reported that the house lights were darkened as AEW’s medical team checked on Madan. One person stated that Madan was taken out on a backboard after an AEW crew had loosened the ring ropes.
