Oct. 12th AEW Collision Show Reportedly Likely to be Preempted Due to AEW’s WrestleDream 2024 Event

Dave Meltzer reported in a special preview edition of this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the airing status of the October 12th AEW Collision show is currently uncertain.

Meltzer reported that his sources within AEW did not give any confirmed answer yet as to what will happen regarding the AEW Collision show that would normally air on October 12th. Meltzer reported that the issue revolves around AEW holding their WrestleDream 2024 event that night in Tacoma, Washington.

Meltzer reported that the most likely scenario is that Collision will be preempted for that week. AEW officials current plans for next week’s AEW Dynamite show on Tuesday, October 8th is to treat that night like a usual Wednesday night taping with Dynamite to air live and Rampage to be taped afterwards for the October 11th show.

Meltzer reported that if something were to change, AEW would either have to tape matches for that Collision show on Wednesday along with their Dynamite 5 Year Anniversary Show, or this Thursday as part of that night’s Collision taping in Toledo, Ohio for this Saturday’s show, or hold it off until next Tuesday as part of that night’s Dynamite Title Tuesday 2024 show in Spokane, Washington.

Meltzer also reported that the only option for airing that week’s Collision show would be airing a new three-hour block on Friday, October 11th similar to what was done for this past September’s All Out 2024 week. Meltzer reported that this would result in Collision going head-to-head against that night’s WWE SmackDown show.

Those spoken to within AEW reportedly stated that the most likely option at this point would be no Collision show airing that week but they were unable to say with certainty. Those same sources reportedly also brought up the latter option as being a possibility.
