Strong grabbed a microphone and talked about how they are his friends and are supportive of him. Strong then praised Cole for his recovery from his ankle injury but told Cole that he wants MJF first. AEW News & Notes

Tony Nese recently announced on Instagram that his wife Liz gave birth to new twin boys this past Monday for their family.

In a recent interview with Wrestlezone, Stardom talent Mina Shirakawa gave her thoughts about if she has plans to return to AEW and work with Mariah May again. Shirakawa stated “I was really happy when Mariah became the AEW Women’s World Champion. As a former partner of Mariah’s, I was so proud to see how her hard work in Japan led her to emerging to the top so soon after arriving in AEW. But the sparkling, fungoing Mariah is gone. I believe I am the only one who can bring Mariah back. I want the old Mariah back. I want the two of us to team up again and become the strongest women’s tag team in AEW. I can’t wait to go back to see Mariah.

In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports, Daniel Garcia gave his thoughts about why he does not want one company to dominate the wrestling industry. Garcia stated “It’s like the NBA. When the Golden State Warriors had everybody, it wasn’t as fun because there wasn’t as much parity in the league. … When multiple companies are hot and you have multiple hot people in each of these hot companies, it just makes wrestling better for the fans, it makes it better for the business, and it’s just more fun for everybody involved.

In a recent separate interview with the AEW Up Close show, Daniel Garcia gave his thoughts about his decision to sign a new contract with AEW to stay in the company. Garcia stated “I re-signed with AEW last week, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I’m 26 years old, and it’s one of the biggest decisions I’ve had to make in my life. I think I made the right one. I wanted to let the fans know that AEW has a lot of momentum right now and the tag line, ‘Where the best wrestle.’ It’s the truth. This is where the best in the world choose to be. (Kazuchika) Okada, (Will) Ospreay, Mercedes (Mone), me. All in one year. We’re putting our flag in. This is where we want to be. We have choices to go everywhere. Obviously, these people have choices to do whatever they want to do in this business. We choose to be at AEW because we believe in it and because we think it’s something that can improve wrestling for hopefully forever.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with 101.5 FM KDAWN Las Vegas’s The Mark Hoke Show, Wheeler Yuta gave his thoughts about him betraying and attacking Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream 2024. Yuta stated “I got in the ring, and I think the decision was pretty clear. Bryan’s done a lot for me in my life and my career, but so have Claudio and Jon. So when you get in the ring in that situation, and my choices were either I could cut my losses, I could stay with the two guys that have the world championship, the guys that are gonna be there, another guy who I hold a trios championship with. I could stay with them, or I could just blindly stick by Bryan. But maybe they were right because two of them are still wrestling, and one of them’s not. So it’s a difficult decision, it’s not one that I took lightly, not one that I enjoyed, but it is what it is.” Yuta also gave his thoughts about the emotions involved in the situation. Yuta stated “Yeah, of course, there’s a lot of internal conflict. As I talked about, how much I looked up to these guys, how much I respected these guys, I didn’t think it would really get to the level that we’re at right now, but there’s work that needs to be done. So if the work’s a little bit dirty, I gotta come to grips with that, I guess. But it is what it is. It’s the job that needs to be done. When you get drafted to go to war, whether you agree or not, you gotta go to war.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge podcast, Brody King gave his thoughts about working for Tony Khan in AEW. King stated “Tony is the nicest guy you’ve ever met, and probably the biggest pro wrestling fan on earth. We’ll be talking about a storyline or this and that, and he’ll just fire off a match from whatever date, and you’re just like, holy shit, where were you holding that? He is a ball of energy at all times. I’m not convinced the man sleeps, ever. He goes from a pay-per-view on AEW to a Jaguars game the next day, then you see him on the field and he’s staying pepped up Tony. You’re like, dude, how do you do this? I feel wrecked the next day, and he’s called an entire pay-per-view show, and now he’s helping out with the whole football. Then he’ll probably fly to England and do something with Fulham. He is dedicated, and he is one of the hardest-working humans I’ve ever met. So I have nothing but respect for Tony Khan.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with the Eyes Up Here with Francine podcast, RJ City gave his thoughts about Toni Storm’s success with the “Timeless” character in AEW. City stated “Taking any credit for Toni Storm is so wrong because she’s so fantastic. At this point, there’s no character … I would say this: She makes any piece of s*** work because she’s so talented and so committed. I can come up with dumb ideas every day, I do it every Sunday, but it’s her that makes it work. I honestly have not seen anyone so wrapped up in a whole thing that is unique to themselves since, I don’t know, The Undertaker.” City also gave his thoughts about him playing a major role in getting Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz being involved in several movie skits for Storm. City stated “In the beginning, I was in a couple of her [Storm’s] films, I introduced them, and I will take credit – despite what Tony Khan wants to say – I will take credit for getting Ben Mankiewicz involved of Turner Classic Movies. That was me because I said ‘Hello, I’m not Ben Mankiewicz’ on Dynamite. And that turned into us being able to work with him, which was the highlight of my life.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)

In a recent interview with TV Insider, Adam Cole gave his thoughts about the passing of ROH COO Joe Koff and the impact Koff had on his life and wrestling career. Cole stated “I’m thankful I got to attend Joe Koff’s service, which just happened. Joe Koff was incredibly important to me. He was an unbelievable man, an unbelievable businessman. He was one of the first people to really support me and have my back and he gave me quite a bit of confidence when it came to wrestling. Having a belief in myself. Joe was so unbelievable to so many of us at Ring of Honor. He helped so many talents and so many different people. This was either from the business mindset or just bringing encouragement. He was awesome to the talent. Joe Koff was someone who, even when I didn’t work for Ring of Honor for years, would still text me congratulations. Whether it was my debut in NXT or debut in AEW or being part of the first [AEW] All In with MJF. Joe Koff went out of his way to reach out and say how proud he was of me. That meant the world. I think the world of him and grateful I could have been even a small part of that man’s life.

During the same interview, Cole gave his thoughts about WWE’s NXT and AEW’s Dynamite shows going head-to-head again on November 6th. Cole stated “I think it’s very exciting. I feel any time there is any kind of competition within pro wrestling, it has been nothing but a positive. When there is only one show in town, it can only do so much. I think when there are situations where people can challenge each other or go up against each other, it brings out the best in both places. It’s nothing but a good thing. It’s good for the wrestlers and fans alike.
