In a recent issue of the Mone Mag fan newsletter, Mercedes Mone gave her thoughts praising “Timeless” Toni Storm and how Storm was the main reason why she watched AEW Dynamite every week prior to her signing with the company. Mone stated “I want to give Toni Storm a standing ovation. To see Toni Storm on the Cover of PWI was incredible. She has been killing it these past couple of years, transforming into this incredible character. I’m not afraid to admit it, but before I even signed with AEW, the main reason I watched AEW Dynamite every single week was largely to see Toni. Her recognition as #1 in the PWI 250 is SO well deserved.

In the same newsletter issue, Mercedes Mone gave her thoughts about not being ranked on PWI’s Women’s Top 250 list for this year. Mone stated “Unfortunately, I didn’t make the list this year, as I was one match short of being eligible! Don’t get me wrong. It totally sucks to be one match short, but I’m definitely coming for that title next year. We all know by now that wrestling match outcomes are predetermined. That being the case, you’d think rankings of this kind would mean less. They don’t make or break me, or a wrestler, in my opinion, but it does feel nice to be recognized.

In a recent interview with the In The Kliq podcast, Powerhouse Hobbs gave his thoughts about his current goals for his career for his upcoming return from injury to AEW. Hobbs stated “For me, my personal goal is how I’m gonna change the business. What am I gonna do to separate myself? I say the business because I’m like Warren G, I want it all, so there’s not one specific goal I have. It’s just how am I gonna change the business, what am I gonna do that’s different? What am I gonna draw people into? What type of emotion am I gonna get out of them? How can I help the business grow?” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge podcast, Brody King gave his thoughts about MVP joining AEW and how MVP was one of the first people to mentor him during his wrestling career. King stated “If anybody knows my career, I’ve actually had a lot of history with MVP. We’ve wrestled in MLW. When I was on the indies, he was one of the first people to kind of take me under his wing. I would consider him a mentor, he gave me a lot of great advice when I was very young in the business that I still hold true to this day. So, when I saw him show up on AEW, it was just as much of a surprise to me as it was the audience. I walked up right to him after he was done and said, ‘Welcome to AEW, glad you’re here.’ Gave him a hug and handshake. You never know what’s down the line in pro wrestling, never say never, but I think right now, my loyalty lies with the House Of Black. The future, maybe MVP joins the House Of Black, you never know.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent episode of the What Happened When with Tony Schiavone podcast, co-host Tony Schiavone gave his thoughts about Bryan Danielson’s loss to Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at AEW’s WrestleDream 2024 event and his belief that Danielson is the greatest wrestler of all-time. Schiavone stated “The only thing I think about right now is how lucky…I’ve talked to you about this, about me feeling lucky, about feeling lucky…I feel very fortunate to have been there for Bryan Danielson’s probably his last match because he’s gotta get healthy. To me, am I wrong to say he’s the best of all time? Is a man like me, who has watched Ric Flair, who has seen Shawn Michaels, wrong to say that Bryan Danielson’s the best of all time? Yes [he’s the number one of all time], for me. Schiavone also gave his thoughts about the post-match beatdown by Moxley’s group on Danielson and the fans not going home happy. Schiavone stated “No, they didn’t, and the old thing is to send them home happy, and I guess we decided not to do that. I guess a part of that, as much as anything else, is the fact that knowing that Bryan is really worn down, and he may not…I don’t know if Bryan’s gonna wrestle again or not, but I know he needs a rest. He mentioned on TV that he’s gonna need surgery before the year is up, so I really don’t know if he’s gonna wrestle again or not, but I do know, man, he needed to slow down. He just did. I talked to Bryan a lot backstage, and tell him all the time, number one, how awesome he is and number two, how concerned I am for him because for instance, he goes out and he wrestles Okada right before he goes to wrestle Jon Moxley. It’s like, dude, slow down. I don’t think the guy knows how to slow down. Hopefully this will slow him down, or at least make him take a break for a little while. But I still think he’s the best, and I think he’s the best because of just being a number one guy, just being a standup, great guy, and a guy who really knows, is really smart in the business ways. Tony Khan depends on him for a lot, he really is one of the best hires that we’ve had since I’ve been a part of AEW. He’s just tremendous.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
