WWE’s Current Plans for The Rascalz for Their NXT Brand

As noted before, this past Tuesday’s NXT show featured TNA Wrestling talents The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel) defeating Gallus (Wolfgang & Mark Coffey) and Hank Walker & Tank Ledger in #1 Contender’s Triple Threat match for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reported that his sources stated that WWE officials currently have plans for more talent crossovers between TNA and NXT. Brennan reported that The Rascalz are expected to be part of these crossover plans for the next couple of months.

Brennan reported that those spoken to stated that NXT officials were “incredibly happy” with Wentz’s performances and backstage attitude since making his return to their NXT brand as a TNA star.

Hulk Hogan Says He Signed New Five Year Contract with WWE

A recent episode of the Impaulsive podcast featured WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Hogan stating that he recently signed a new five year contract with WWE.

“Working with Vince (McMahon) for all that time, and now working with Nick Khan. I signed a five-year deal. I’m 71 years old in a few weeks. I signed a five-year deal for the licensing and merchandising stuff, and ambassador stuff, if they need me to do something for WrestleMania. I just love doing it. It’s definitely different.”

Hogan also gave his thoughts about WWE’s new leadership regime and WWE President Nick Khan’s handling of the company compared to Vince McMahon.

“What I feel with the leadership is working with Nick Khan now. He’s more, for me, business cut and dry. He doesn’t overthink the creative. Nick Khan is strictly business. I said, ‘Hey brother, this art work that hasn’t been used for 35 years. I need it for my Real American Beer.’ Nick Khan says, ‘Let me get back to you in a couple of days.’ ‘No rush.’ He calls me back, we talked, I don’t want to give numbers, ‘You can use the artwork. I need X amount of percentage out of every million bucks you make.’ Instead of me paying you guys hundreds and thousands of dollars, and potentially millions of dollars, I can go out for $300 bucks and have someone do this artwork that is reasonably similar, maybe reasonably confusing. Nick goes, ‘Let me just give it to you.’ Good, we’re on same team, brother. Nick was really cool. He made it really easy on me. Vince was great, too, but I don’t know if Vince would make that quick of a decision. Nick has been very easy, supportive, and helpful

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Lyra Valkyria gave her thoughts about if WWE’s new WWE Speed Women’s Championship could fill the women’s midcard title gap on the main roster. Valkyria stated “I think so. It’s definitely going to provide an opportunity for a lot of women in the locker room that are looking to step up. Even if you look at the first round matches, you just don’t know [who could win]. Maybe some women are more suited to trying to get the job done in three minutes and we could see people getting that chance to show what they can do that wouldn’t normally be in the spotlight.
