More on NXT Sept. 24, 2024 Viewership

The September 24th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT suffer a large decline in overall viewership, a small decline in key demographic rankings, and a slight decline in key demographic ratings. This week’s show was notable for being the final NXT show on USA Network.

NXT drew 620,000 viewers and a 0.19 key demographic rating on USA Network. NXT’s key demographic ranking for the night was 9th place.

Detailed key demographic viewership breakdowns were not available in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for NXT’s declines this week was due to the large declines from their Over 50 key demographic viewership and older key demographic viewership groups, which its percentages were not given. This reportedly offset the large gain from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was up 7.7% compared to last week’s show.

In terms of head-to-head competition, America’s Got Talent season finale drew 5,462,000 viewers on NBC, the 2024 WNBA Playoffs Game 2 of Seattle Storm vs. Las Vegas Aces drew 998,000 viewers on ESPN, the 2024 WNBA Playoffs Game 2 of Atlanta Dream vs. New York Liberty drew 863,000 viewers on ESPN, the MLB game of Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees drew 470,000 viewers on TBS, Deadliest Catch drew 838,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta drew 439,000 viewers on MTV, Chopped drew 430,000 viewers on Food Network, and My Big Fat Fabulous Life drew 549,000 viewers on TLC.

NXT’s peak key demographic viewership was 303,000 viewers for the same quarter hour. NXT’s overrun drew 500,000 overall viewers and 208,000 key demo viewers for the Roxanne Perez, Giulia, & Stephanie Vaquer press conference segment. Meltzer reported that this week’s show had the rare occurrence where the overrun actually lost viewers compared to its eighth quarter. Meltzer reported that NXT’s eighth quarter drew 524,000 overall viewers and 214,000 key demo viewers.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 252,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that NXT’s male/female viewership skew was 64.1% in favor of males.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was down 2.5% in overall viewership but up 7.2% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that NXT’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 1% compared to the same week last year.
