Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured R-Truth making his surprise return to WWE’s RAW brand.

During the show, Braun Strowman was seen backstage and being interviewed by Cathy Kelly about his upcoming Last Monster Standing match against Bronson Reed. The Miz showed up to interrupt and stated that he wants to talk to Strowman about why he interrupted his match against Reed last week. This led to R-Truth quickly making his surprise return and interrupted The Miz and Strowman’s conversation. Strowman stated that he didn’t expect to see R-Truth back after what had happened to him, which led to Truth asking what he meant. Strowman stated that Truth was hit with five Tsunamis by Reed, which Truth responded stating he doesn’t remember that. After Strowman left, Truth told Miz that he got a match made for them tonight against some team called “A-OP” which led to an upset Miz responding back telling Truth that is Authors of Pain. Truth then shouted that Awesome Truth is back together again while The Miz wasn’t happy over what Truth did.

This was R-Truth’s first appearance in WWE since being “injured” at the hands of Bronson Reed on the August 12th WWE RAW show.

Gunther Grants Sami Zayn a Title Shot for WWE World Title

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured Gunther finally accepting Sami Zayn’s constant demands for a shot at his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This match was setup over recent weeks of RAW shows involving Zayn demanding several times for Gunther to grant him a match for the WWE World title and insulting Gunther on several occasions over Gunther’s constant refusals.

During tonight’s show, Gunther came out to the ring and talked about how his life as the World Champion has been fantastic. Gunther then talked about how he hates having to deal with Zayn every week and he couldn’t ask for anyone more annoying than Sami.

This led to Zayn’s music playing to interrupt and him coming out to the ring. Zayn grabbed a microphone and stated that if Gunther finds it so annoying dealing with him every weel, then there is an easy way to put this to an end. Sami stated all Gunther has to do is give him what he keeps asking for and put your title on the line. Sami then asked Gunther to tell him why he won’t do it and demanded Gunther to admit to it.

Gunther responded stating he tried to tell Sami and he tried to beat it into him. Gunther stated that Sami is not on his level, which led to Zayn responding back stating that if he is not on Gunther’s level, then how did he beat Gunther at WrestleMania 40 for the Intercontinental Championship. Zayn stated that it drives you crazy because you think you are better than him and if it was him versus Gunther again, you are afraid that it will happen again.

This led to Gunther responding stating that Zayn is right and he is afraid but he isn’t afraid of Sami and instead is afraid for his reputation. After some more words, Gunther talked about how he had brought his family to WrestleMania but didn’t parade them around like Zayn did for their match. Gunther then talked about how his father was disappointed asking why did he fly them from Vienna to Philadelphia to watch him lose to that bum Sami Zayn. After some insults by Gunther about Zayn’s family expects him to lose and they expect nothing from him, Gunther stated that his family expects everything from him because he is the Golden Goose. Gunther stated that he is something Sami will never be, the World Champion.

This led to Zayn responding stating that his family has watched him lose and get knocked down many times but he picks himself back up and he moves forward. Zayn then insulted Gunther claiming that Gunther crumbled when he lost in front of his family and ran away and hid for a while because your dad made you feel like a loser. Zayn stated that Gunther is showing his dad that his son his a coward.

This led to brawl breaking out between the two that ended after Gunther powerbombed Zayn. Gunther grabbed the microphone and stated that if Zayn wants it so bad, then he has his match.

In a follow-up segment, Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser were seen backstage being interviewed by Cathy Kelly who revealed that Gunther will be defending his title against Zayn at next week’s RAW show.

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured The Miz turning heel and attacking R-Truth putting an end to their Awesome Truth tag team.

This was setup in recent weeks over Karrion Kross trying to give words of wisdom to The Miz as away of corrupting him.

During tonight’s show, R-Truth made his surprise return from “injury” and revealed to The Miz that he got a tag match booked for them on the show to the disappointment of The Miz when he found out that it was against the Authors of Pain.

During Awesome Truth’s tag team match against AOP, Truth tagged in The Miz who responded by teasing attacking Akem only to lay out R-Truth with boot to the head. The Miz then looked at Truth before leaving the ring as Karrion Kross looked on laughing at what The Miz just did. This led to AOP hitting their tag team finisher to Truth for the pinfall victory despite Truth not being the legal man.

Seth Rollins Makes Surprise Return on Monday’s WWE RAW Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured Seth Rollins making his surprise return from “injury.”

During the Last Monster Standing match between Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman, the ring broke after Reed hit a superplex to Strowman causing the referee to bounce out of the ring. As Reed, Strowman, and several security guys were laid out in the ring, the referee slowly got back up and started the ten count. This led to Reed and Strowman slowly trying to get up to their feet and Reed using the steel steps in the ring as leverage. Before Reed was able to get back up, Rollins made his surprise return and ran out to the imploded ring. Rollins then proceeded to hit a curb stomp to Reed onto the steel steps knocking him out as Strowman managed to get back up on his feet to beat the 10 count and win the match.
