Meltzer reported that there were several Netflix employees in attendance in the first few rows at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Ontario, California.

Meltzer reported that WWE officials have also held recent talks regarding the idea of holding the following night’s NXT show in the same venue.

Vince McMahon Comments on Continuing WWE’s Over the Edge 1999 Event Following Owen Hart’s Accident & Passing

Netflix’s recently released Mr. McMahon docuseries featured a variety of Vince McMahon and WWE-related topics discussed. One of the topics discussed included McMahon’s reasons for continuing WWE’s Over The Edge 1999 event following Owen Hart’s in-ring accident and tragic passing

Vince McMahon – “The decision that, uh, basically I had to make was whether or not the show goes on. The live audience didn’t really see what happened. Had they seen, no question, you have to shut the show down.

Those people came to see a show. They didn’t come to see somebody die. Me as a businessman, it’s like, okay, let’s continue on. Let’s continue the show.

There were a lot of negative comments, as to whether or not they show should have continued.”

**A video clip of Bret Hart plays saying that his dead brother was wheeled past other wrestlers who were being still encouraged to perform**

McMahon – “Naturally, Bret’s gonna feel like, you know, a brother should. He had every right to say anything negatively about our company.”

**Video plays of Bret Hart questioning how Vince McMahon would have felt if it was Shane McMahon that had fell from the ceiling**

McMahon – “Had it been me, not just my son, had it been me who was splattered on the mat as Bret said, I would want the show to go on. So, get me out of there, you know, and let the show go on. I’d do it with me, and to this day, I would.”
