Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed WrestleVotes’ report about WWE’s SmackDown series becoming a three-hour show starting in January of 2025 being accurate.

Meltzer reported that as of this week, those spoken to within WWE stated that nothing has been finalized yet but WWE officials are likely waiting to make that official announcement.

Meltzer also reported that WWE officials are currently in negotiations with USA Network officials over the financial aspects for SmackDown’s new extra hour.
