Zachary Wentz Reveals Wes Lee Attack on Trey Miguel Being Reason for The Rascalz NXT Title Match Being Pulled
As noted before, The Rascalz were pulled from their scheduled match for the NXT Tag Team Championship for last week’s NXT show due to “somewhat conspicuous circumstances” resulting in them not being cleared to compete. The real reason was due to Trey Miguel had underwent an unexpected minor surgery on September 8th.
During the show, an angry Zachary Wentz came out to the ring and talked about The Rascalz not being able to compete for the NXT Tag titles on last week’s show. Wentz stated that he had something to show and told the production crew to air the video on the big screen. This led to security footage of Miguel walking up to his car in the parking lot in Dayton, Ohio but before he was able to get into the car and leave, Lee was seen running towards the car and attacked Miguel before running away.
After the video ended, Wentz stated that he does not know how long Trey will be out and called Lee an absolute piece of garbage for what he did. Wentz stated that Lee can’t deal with them moving on and claimed Lee was still bitter that he beat him at No Mercy. Wentz then stated that if Lee thought losing at No Mercy was embarrassing, what he will put you though in Chicago will be ten times worse. Wentz stated that it ends in Chicago.
“You are an absolute piece of garbage!”

Special Guest Referee for NXT Championship Match Announced for October 1st NXT Show
Tuesday’s NXT show also featured one newly updated match for the card of WWE’s NXT show on October 1st at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
This newly updated match was a NXT Championship Special Guest Referee match of Trick Williams vs. “All Ego” Ethan Page (c). It was announced that CM Punk will be the special guest referee.
This newly updated match was setup following an in-ring promo segment involving Williams, Page, and CM Punk. Earlier in the show, NXT GM Ava attempted to get Williams and Page to sign their match contract for the NXT title only for neither to do so at the time.
In a follow-up segment, Indiana Pacers Tyrese Haliburton, who was a special guest on the show, told Ava that he would fix the issue and get Williams and Page to sign the contract tonight.
In another follow-up segment, Haliburton was seen in the ring holding the NXT Championship match contract. After some words, Haliburton called for Williams to come out to the ring, which he did. After some insults by Williams directed towards Page, Williams signed the contract as Haliburton called for Page to come out to the ring now, which Page did. Page responded to Williams’ comments with his own insults directed towards Williams and Haliburton before also signing the contract making their match official. This led to Haliburton saying that his job was done and started to leave the ring only to stop and stated he forgot something. Haliburton stated “hit the music” which led to CM Punk’s music playing.
Punk came out to the ring and brought up how his big announcement earlier in the show was interrupted by Roxanne Perez. Punk stated that he came out to reveal that his announcement was him being the special guest referee for the NXT Championship match between Williams and Page on the October 1st show. Punk stated that the only rule is they have to listen to the referee and he says they can start fighting now. This led to Williams and Page engaging in a brawl that was broken up after NXT officials ran out to separate the two as the show went to a close.
“The referee making the three count is CM Punk!”
