The Rascalz Wins Shot at NXT Tag Titles on Tuesday’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show featured The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel) defeating Hank Walker & Tank Ledger and Gallus (Wolfgang & Mark Coffey) in a #1 Contender’s Triple Threat match for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

NXT announcer Vic Joseph stated that as a result of their victory, The Rascalz will be officially facing off against Axiom & Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag titles on next week’s NXT show.

Lyra Valkyria Makes Surprise NXT Return on Tuesday’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured Lyra Valkyria making her surprise return appearance to WWE’s NXT brand.

Following Tatum Paxley’s victory over Rosemary, Wendy Choo confronted Paxley in the ring and attacked her leading to Rosemary joining in on the attack. This led to Valkyria’s music playing and her running out to save Paxley and cleared the ring of Choo and Rosemary. Valkyria then helped Paxley back up on her feet and the two hugged in happiness over their reunion moment.

In a follow-up segment, Valkyria and Paxley were seen in the backstage women’s locker room. A cheerful Paxley stated that she knew Lyra would forgive her and no one has her back on RAW like she does. Valkyria responded stating that Paxley wouldn’t let her make friends and she didn’t mean for Tatum to “make” … before she could finish, Valkyria changed direction and stated that she said she would never come back but she couldn’t keep her eye off Paxley. Paxley responded stating that it is lonley here and Valkyria responded back stating that she would rather fight with her than against her so she wants to show the weird girls how weird she can be. Valkyria then told Paxley to hug her and the two embraced.

Jordynne Grace TNA Knockouts Title Open Challenge Match Set for Next Week’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured current TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace making a surprise video appearance.

During the show, a video aired featuring Grace announcing that with next week being a special week for WWE, she decided to make it even more special by showing up on next week’s NXT show. Grace stated that she had talked with NXT General Manager Ava to have the TNA Knockouts Championship being defended for the first time ever in NXT in an open challenge match.

Ridge Holland Explains His Betrayal of Chase U

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured Ridge Holland explained his reasons for his betrayal of Chase University at NXT’s No Mercy 2024 event.

During the show, Holland was seen alone in the Chase U classroom. Holland stated that Chase U welcomed him in at his lowest. Holland asked why destroy Mr. Chase and put him in the hospital? Holland answered his own question stating that they failed. Holland talked about how they were champions only for Chase U dud what Chase U does. Holland stated that they won the big one but couldn’t keep it. Holland then talked about all of the good things he did for Chase U by giving them a new look and a new classroom and claimed Duke Hudson wouldn’t have done the same. Holland stated that Duke questioned everything he did and Duke is a smug, arrogant, asshole. Holland stated that Riley Osborne is the same. Holland then talked about how Hudson and Riley had a NXT Tag titles match at NXT Heatwave and instead of appreciating what he did for them to get the title shot, they told him to stay home. Holland stated that they lost without him and he finally became a champion and it got ripped away due to mediocrity.

Holland stated that you will get what he tried to keep away and the destruction of Chase U starts next week. Holland then turned his attention towards Thea Hail and stated that he will love every minute of it.

Chelsea Green Makes Surprise Return & Giulia Makes Surprise Appearance, Giulia Issues Challenge for NXT Women’s Title

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured Chelsea Green making her surprise return and Giulia making a surprise appearance and challenging Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship.

During the show, NXT Women’s Champion Perez came out to the ring. Perez proceeded to talk about her still being champion. Perez then bragged about her being second all-time in NXT PPV matches and wins and stated that she is smashing all of Asuka and IYO SKY’s records. After some more words bragging about the career she has had and her victory over Jaida Parker, Perez stated that nobody has the ability to take this title away from her. Perez stated that it doesn’t matter if you are the top NXT prospect, a former NXT champion, or the hottest free agent from Japan trying to steal her shine. Perez then stated that when the smoke clears, it will be her holding the title up in the air.

This led to the lights going out and when they came back on, Chelsea Green’s music played and came out for her surprise return. After some insults directed at Perez and the crowd, Green stated that she is beloved by the WWE Universe and she would do anything for her fans … well some of her fans are creepy. Green stated that she is here to interrupt and nobody will tell her she isn’t the number one contender.

This led to the lights going out again leading to Giulia’s music playing. Giulia came out to the ring and after some words by Green, Giulia blocked a punch by Green and laid her out with a punch and knee strike in return. Giulia then grabbed a microphone and confronted Perez stating “Me, You, CW.” Giulia and Perez continued their face-to-face confrontation as Perez held up her title to close out the show.

Current Card for Next Week’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured five new matches announced for the card of next week’s NXT show on September 10th.

These matches were all setup following promos, storyline angles, and match card graphics throughout the show.

Among the new matches announced included a Last Man Standing match of Trick Williams vs. Pete Dunne.

This match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving NXT GM Ava. Ava stated that after what happened earlier, there needs to be a winner and Williams and Dunne will compete against each other in a Last Man Standing match for next week’s show and the winner will face Ethan Page for the NXT Championship at the October 1st NXT show in Chicago, Illinois.
