During Monday’s WWE RAW show, Kairi Sane suffered an eye injury during her tag team match with IYO SKY against Unholy Union for the #1 Contender’s for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Sane suffered the injury following a spot involving Sane performing a top rope dive to the outside on Bianca Belair but landed face first on the edge of the announcer’s table instead. This resulted in Sane getting busted open but managed to finish the match. Following the match, Sane was seen with a bloody eye during Damage CTRL’s confrontation with Belair & Jade Cargill.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Sane had received several stitches backstage from WWE’s medical team after the match.
Johnson reported that it is currently not known if Sane suffered any other injuries beyond the busted eye lid.
Joe Tessitore Comments on his WWE RAW Commentary Debut
Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured former ESPN broadcaster Joe Tessitore making his official WWE commentary debut for the RAW brand.
Following the show, WWE held a digital exclusive backstage interview with Tessitore about his thoughts about his first official night on commentary in the company.
“How do I feel? [Points to the fans] This is how I feel. You feel alive. You feel passion, and you feel intensity. You want to live in the red in life. That’s what this is, Raw, live in the red. This was an awesome night.”
Tessitore also gave his thoughts about the reception from the the live crowd for his introduction moment on the show.
“I was very into them, it was a great reception. It meant a lot to me. I brought out the little kid in me tonight. I went and I grabbed a bunch of t-shirts and merchandise. I spread the love, and I wanted to see smile on these children’s faces. From start to finish, I thought that what was thread this evening was very special, and it was great to see it. Night one in the books, let’s have many more.”
